Great work being done by our partners!

Saturday, November 6, was a perfect morning for a cleanup with students from the Kennesaw State University Eco Owls environmental program.
They worked the north shoreline from Victoria Harbor to Harbor Town and easily collected 20+ bags of trash and other items.

Suddenly entering cold water can cause you to gasp and inhale water. Dress in layers to help insulate your body from cold water temperatures. Wet clothes will not weigh you down in the water and can actually help you float, especially if you’re wearing a life jacket.

Louis Lucky Cloud was drafted in 1943 and served as an 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper.
On June 6, 1944, he and his fellow paratroopers jumped into Normandy and seized St. Mere Eglise. Among his many medals is the Bronze Star.
Cloud was a warrior in the tradition of his grandfather, Pax-an-'pín, whose Yakama name he has taken for his own.

Do you have a date certain when you will drain the lake this year?
Why are you guys always in such a hurry, usually every August, to drop the summer lake level when we have had more than normal rain amounts? Wouldnt it make for safer boating to extend summer pool through at least the end of September?
Where can i find information about water quality of the lake? Specifically e coli.
Runoff from the Douglasville City Golf Course.
As a visitor to the Galts ferry beach at lake allatoona, although the beach was beautiful , I was astounded by the no walk in weekend policy in place. Residents renting or owning near the entrance are required to drive their vehicles in order to enter the park. Not only is this environmentally negligent, but inconvenient . The logic to this law according to the on site ranger is to keep a car count record of the amount of people on the beach . Yet , people are not counted in their cars only their car. In addition, if you get there before the entrance is tagged you can walk in. So what is the real reason? The real reason seems to be that that is the way it’s always been.. or so I was told repeatedly. I think it is time to review this policy. People living in the neighborhood who are literally a 2 minute walk should be allowed to walk .. not required to drive. We should be allowed to flash our annual pass and go into the beach. It is ridiculous.. unhealthy and is contrast to the clean waters and beaches we strive to maintain in order to follow an inflexible and unreasonable rule. Thank you for reviewing this and thinking of innovative solutions such as counting people as they come in or having a resident pass.

is allatoona beach opened yet
Any updates on when McKinney will be reopened?
The creek behind our house in Douglasville is over its banks. We have already lost about 3 feet of our backyard. The Douglasville city West Pines golf course pond overflows into this creek. Is this an issue for the Army Core of Engineers?
Why is access to lake Allatoona restricted by closing boat ramps?
Is there a way to find out which boat ramps are open currently? When I go to the website it states it was last updated in 2012 so not thinking it’s very accurate. Thanks!
