We’re proud to share that Advocates for Children’s Parents as Teachers (PAT) program received the Capacity Champion Award at the Child Health Conference earlier this summer!

This recognition honors programs that meet or exceed 100% of their program capacity for 12 consecutive months—a reflection of both the tremendous need in our community and the dedication of our team to reaching children and families with meaningful, prevention-focused support.

We are grateful to the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program through the Georgia Department of Human Services for this recognition and for their continued partnership.

Most of all, we celebrate our PAT team for the consistency, commitment, and care they bring to families every day.

A wonderful evening celebrating our work in Cobb County!

Thank you to the community partners, volunteers, donors, and friends who joined us at Glover Park Brewery. It was a great opportunity to connect, share more about the work Advocates for Children is doing alongside families in Cobb County, and celebrate the partnerships that help make that work possible.

We are grateful to be part of a community that shows up for children, youth, and families. Thank you for being part of this work and helping us build an even stronger network of support in Cobb County.

Special thanks to our community partners, including Cobb Collaborative, Cobb County Schools, Together Georgia, Kennesaw State University, Cobb County Juvenile Court, Cobb County Government/CDBG, Georgia Power, QuikTrip, and Glover Park Brewery.

Working together to better protect and support children in our community. 💙

Montana, our Child Advocacy Center Director, and Rachel, our Handle With Care Coordinator, recently presented at the Euharlee Police Department, sharing important information about child abuse protocols and the Handle With Care initiative.

These conversations help strengthen the connection between law enforcement and the professionals who support children following abuse or traumatic experiences. When our community partners understand the resources available and how to respond, we can better ensure children receive the care and support they need.

Thank you to the Euharlee Police Department for your partnership and commitment to protecting children in our community!

"Building stronger connections for children in our community. 💙

Our Handle With Care Coordinator, Rachel Heller, recently had the opportunity to present to the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) about how Handle With Care helps schools better support children who have experienced a traumatic event.

Through Handle With Care, law enforcement can alert a child’s school that they may need a little extra care and understanding following a difficult experience, without sharing details of what happened.

By bringing together law enforcement, schools and community partners, we can help ensure children are met with compassion and support when they walk into the classroom.

Thank you to DFCS for welcoming Rachel and for your continued partnership in supporting children and families across our community!

Change a Child’s Story.

When a child enters foster care, suddenly there are new people, new places and important decisions being made about their future.

A CASA volunteer can be one consistent person through all that change.

Appointed by the court, CASA volunteers get to know the child and advocate for their best interests, helping ensure their needs are heard and their future remains at the center of every decision.

Children in our community need advocates.

Will you become one?

Our students are heading back to school with confidence and the supplies they need to succeed, thanks to the generosity of our incredible community.

A special thank you to Dayco Systems Heating & Cooling and Georgia Highlands College and our other sponsors for helping make this possible. Your support provides more than backpacks and school supplies—it gives children the confidence to start the school year prepared and ready to learn.

Thank you for investing in the future of the children and families we serve. Together, we're making a lasting impact. 💙📚✏️
