Late last night, a Houston Police Department Officer was stabbed while encountering a call involving a mental health subject.

This attack is a stark reminder of the unpredictable dangers Texas peace officers face every single day — even in moments meant to help someone in need.

TMPA stands with this officer, their family, and the entire HPD family as we pray for healing, strength, and a full, fast recovery.

As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, keep in mind we want your holiday to be as enjoyable and safe as it can be. If you know Uncle Billy Bob, who has warrants for child support or something even more serious, and he is coming to Grandma’s house with a 12-pack that usually turns into a bad attitude, give the police a call. They will take Uncle BB out of the picture before he can eat all of the pecan pie you so much enjoy. they are here to serve and they will have dedicated deputies/ officers working all week. Smile and breathe.
