After 3PM, weather will turny cranky again. ⛈️ SCATTERED storms will fire up over Indiana. (May 19)
Watch for some gusty winds, lightning, and localized flooding. There may be some slight rotation, but the tornado risk remains very low. Hail risks are low too.
COVERAGE
Storms will not be widespread like yesterday. Expect scattered showers and storms. They will be a bit more hit-or-miss in coverage.
TIMING (Tuesday May 19th)
Most severe threats for Indiana will range between 3PM and 10PM EDT.
They will start in SW Indiana first. Areas north and east will see the threats start closer to 5-6PM.
After 10PM, most severe threats should end, but rain and rumbles are possible overnight and Wednesday morning.
RAINFALL
Rainfall totals will range quite a bit thanks to the scattered nature of downpours. Some places may only get a quarter inch while others try to pick up an additional 1-2+ inches through Wednesday morning.
More localized flooding is possible.
ZONES
A level 1-2 severe threat is in place for central, southern, eastern, and northeastern Indiana. The farther northwest you go, the closer to the front you will be which will cut off the instability you need for storm development.
