🎉 Wrapping Up Another Great Year with Our Homeschool 4-H Club! 🎉

This month, our Homeschool 4-H Club gathered for our final meeting of the school year! Throughout the year, members stayed up to date on 4-H events, participated in hands-on activities, and learned from lessons led by our 4-H agents and program assistant.

To finish the year strong, club members completed a community service project at the Smith County Ag Center, helping pick up trash around the facility, park, and boat dock. 🌎💚 We are proud of their hard work and dedication to giving back to our community!

After a job well done, we celebrated with a pizza party and reflected on all the accomplishments of our Homeschool 4-H Club during the 2025-2026 school year. 🍕🎊

Do you have a homeschool student who will be in 4th–12th grade for the 2026-2027 school year? We'd love to have them join us! Homeschool 4-H is a great way to make friends, learn new skills, participate in community service, and get involved in exciting 4-H opportunities.

Our office enjoyed conducting an On My Own financial simulation at Smith County High School for 7th-12th grade summer camp students! Students were given a profession based on their personality type. They were tasked to make it through a month of expenses including housing, transportation, childcare, etc. on their given salary and hypothetical family scenario. We appreciate the teachers who helped make this a fun learning experience for the students!

📣🐄 June Dairy Month Tour! 🥛🌾

Celebrate June Dairy Month with us at the MTSU Dairy Farm! 🐮 June Dairy Month is a time to recognize and appreciate the dairy industry and the farmers who work hard every day to provide milk and dairy products for our tables 🧀🥛

Join us for a fun and educational behind-the-scenes tour where youth will explore modern dairy production, learn how milk goes from farm to table, and see what life is like on a working dairy farm 🌱✨

Participants will also get the chance to interact with dairy cattle up close and gain hands-on experience in agriculture and animal science 💚🐄 This is a great opportunity to learn more about where your food comes from while celebrating the importance of dairy in our daily lives!

We already knew we had some outstanding 4-H’ers, but our Smith County youth truly went above and beyond! 🍀

📸 Three Smith County 4-H’ers placed in the Top 10 of the Tennessee State 4-H Photo Contest. Each will receive a cash prize, a rosette ribbon, and will have their photos displayed at Roundup 2026 as well as the Tennessee State Fair in August.

🎉Congratulations to Easton Bibbings, Lizzy Taylor, and Ashleigh O’Brien. We are so proud of your hard work, talent, and representation of Smith County 4-H!🎉

Congratulations to our Smith County 4-H members who recently competed at the 2026 Sub-Regional Area 2 Project Achievement Day hosted at Tennessee Tech University on May 13th! 💜💛

Yesterday was a great day at the Multi-County Livestock Clinic held at the Smith County Ag Center! 🐐🐮🐖🐑

Smith, Wilson, White and Trousdale Counties served as the host counties for this event, bringing together 25 4-H’ers from Smith, Wilson, Sumner, Cumberland, Bedford and Putnam Counties for a hands-on educational experience focused on the livestock industry. 🍀

Participants selected a Beef, Swine, Goat or Sheep track where they learned about species specific daily care, nutrition, grooming, show preparation and showmanship. The day also concluded with a showmanship contest in each species, where Grand and Reserve Champion Showman plaques were awarded across divisions.

🤩 We would like to extend a huge thank you to our clinicians for sharing their expertise yesterday: Addy Spangler for goats; Courtney Dickens and Caleb Limpert for sheep; Becky Sintek and The Locke Family for beef; and Julie Phillips for swine. Your support made this hands-on learning experience possible for our youth.

Special thank you to Michael Barry from the Central Region Extension Office for serving as our judge. 🏆

Smith County Family and Community Education (FCE) is well represented at Central Region FCE Retreat in Pulaski! Members are enjoying marketable skills and learning sessions, such as creating fascinators and learning how to add flavor to recipes without adding salt. 🍀✨2026 Smith County 4-H Senior Spotlight - Easton Bibbings✨🍀

Easton is a member of the Smith County 4-H Homeschool Club and has been an active 4-H member for the last 6 years. During his time in 4-H, Easton has participated in Wildlife Judging, Forestry Judging, Poultry Judging, Meats Judging, Community Club, and Honor Club. He is also a 4-H All-Star.

Easton’s favorite 4-H activity is Wildlife Judging because he loves learning about nature and the content is closely related to his chosen career path. His favorite 4-H memory is competing at the National 4-H Forestry Invitational in Weston, West Virginia in Summer 2024.

To current and future 4-H members, Easton said, “Don’t be intimidated when something seems difficult! Just send it!”

Easton plans to attend Tennessee Tech University in the fall, where he will major in Fisheries Science.

Calling all 4th-6th grade 4-H’ers! School is almost out, and we have the perfect thing for you to do this summer - come to 4-H Camp! 🏕️ 😎🍀

Join us at the Clyde M. York 4-H center in Crossville on June 8-12 for a week filled with swimming, fishing, hiking, kayaking, sports, archery, crafts, and SO MUCH MORE! The cost to attend camp is $380, which includes transportation and a t-shirt.

We still have spots AND scholarship money available for camp. With a scholarship, the price for the week is only $190!
