The ex*****on of a search warrant in Seagrove area of Moore County results in drug arrest

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of an individual following the ex*****on of a search warrant at a residence in the Seagrove area.
On August 19th, 2026, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and conducted a search of a residence in the 2500 block of West Chriscoe Road in the Seagrove area of Moore County. During the search, authorities seized methamphetamine, items of drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.

Charles Bruce Comer, 67 years of age, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Comer was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000.00 secured bond with a Moore County District Court date of September 2nd, 2026.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Operation Safe Start
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol have teamed up with Moore County Schools to launch “Operation Safe Start,” a county-wide traffic safety campaign focused on helping ensure a safe start to the new school year.
As students, parents, school staff, and motorists return to their normal school year routines, motorists can expect an increased law enforcement presence in and around school zones throughout Moore County. Deputies and troopers will be focused on speeding and other unsafe driving violations that can place students, school personnel, and other motorists at risk.
The beginning of the school year brings increased traffic, school buses, additional pedestrian activity, and more student drivers on our roadways. Motorists are reminded to slow down, remain patient and alert, obey posted speed limits in school zones, and allow additional time for their morning and afternoon commutes.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol are committed to working together with Moore County Schools to make “Operation Safe Start” a success and, most importantly, to help ensure a safe start to the school year for everyone traveling on the roadways of Moore County.

Additional Details Released in Pinebluff Triple Homicide Investigation

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces additional information in the ongoing investigation into the deaths of three people found inside a Pinebluff residence on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

The victims have been identified as Bobby Farris, 63; Christina Aggelis, 62; and Trinity Thomas, 20. Christina Aggelis was the mother of Demetrius Louis Aggelis, who has been charged in connection with their deaths. Thomas was Demetrius’ niece and the granddaughter of Christina Aggelis.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Aggelis reported that he had gone to the residence at 115 Ryder Cup Boulevard to pick up his stepfather, Bobby Farris, and take him to an airport for a scheduled flight. Aggelis stated that when he arrived, he found all three victims unresponsive. Moore County Sheriff's deputies, fire personnel and emergency medical services responded and determined that all three were deceased from apparent homicide.

Investigators immediately began gathering evidence and working to establish a timeline of events. Privately owned surveillance video recovered during the initial investigation appeared to show an armed individual entering the victims’ residence shortly after 3:30 a.m. Additional privately owned surveillance video helped investigators establish that Aggelis had been operating a particular vehicle prior to the homicides being reported.

During the initial investigation, Aggelis told investigators that he had been at his own residence, several miles away, during the time the armed individual was observed entering the victims’ home. Investigators then reviewed data from the Flock Safety camera network to further establish the movements of the vehicle they had linked to Aggelis.

A Flock camera located less than a mile from the crime scene had captured the vehicle traveling toward the area of the victims’ residence minutes before the armed individual was observed entering the home. The vehicle was captured traveling away from the area minutes later, contradicting Aggelis’ initial account of his whereabouts.

Flock camera data has also provided other leads in the investigation that investigators are continuing to pursue. Investigators have recovered weapons and other evidence believed to have been used in the commission of the crimes which are being submitted for further examination and analysis.

Aggelis has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of first-degree burglary and has admitted responsibility for the deaths of the three victims.

Investigators are continuing to examine evidence and circumstances surrounding the homicides before reaching a conclusion regarding motive.

One in custody following the search of a home in Seagrove area.

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of an individual following the search of a home in the Seagrove area of Moore County.
On August 11th, 2026, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted North Carolina Probation/Parole officers with the search of a residence belonging to a probationer in the 200 block of Sheffield Road in Seagrove. During the search, detectives located and seized methamphetamine, and items of drug paraphernalia.
Subsequent to the search, the probationer in question, Donald Ray Sheffied, 60 years of age, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheffield was committed to the Moore County Detention Center with no bond, and a Moore County District Court date of August 26th, 2026.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Pinebluff Man in Custody Following Triple Homicide Investigation

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces that a Pinebluff man is in custody in connection with a triple homicide investigation following the discovery of three deceased individuals at a Pinebluff residence Wednesday morning.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Moore County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 100 block of Ryder Cup Boulevard in Pinebluff, where three adults were found deceased inside a residence. The deaths appeared to be the result of homicide.

During the course of the investigation, Demetrius Louis Aggelis, 40, of Pinebluff, was identified as a suspect. Evidence obtained through the Flock Safety camera network, along with other evidence gathered in the case, played a significant role in identifying Aggelis. He is currently in custody and is being charged with three counts of murder and one count of first-degree burglary.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Information about how the victims died is not being released at this time. Other details about the crime scene and evidence are also being withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Arrest Made Following Robbins Drug Investigation

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of Charles Ray Prince Jr., 66, following the ex*****on of a search warrant in the Robbins area of Moore County.

On August 5, 2026, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Sunset Place in Robbins. During the search, detectives seized methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and a stolen U-Haul trailer.

Prince was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Prince was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $40,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on August 27, 2026.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Arrest Made in March Double Homicide Investigation

The Moore County Sheriff's Office is providing an update regarding the investigation into the double homicide that occurred on March 29, 2026, at a residence in the 100 block of Gaines Street in the Jackson Hamlet community.

On August 5, 2026, Vincent Earl McCrae, 38, of Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with one count of murder in connection with the death of Jamar Brooks Hailey, 43, of Aberdeen. Antonio Jamal Brown, 41, of Raeford, also died during the incident. Investigators are awaiting additional forensic evidence before making a final determination regarding the circumstances surrounding Brown's death.

With the assistance of the United States Marshals Service and the Fayetteville Police Department, McCrae was located and taken into custody in Fayetteville, North Carolina without incident.

At the time of his arrest, McCrae also had multiple outstanding orders for arrest for failing to appear in court on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony trafficking in he**in, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver oxycodone, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver hydrocodone, felony possession of ma*****na, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver ma*****na, felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, McCrae was wanted for violating the terms of his federal supervision and is being held under a federal detainer.

McCrae is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on August 12, 2026. He was issued a $600,000 secured bond on the failure to appear matters and is being held without bond on the murder charge.

Drug Investigation in Carthage Results in Arrest

On July 30, 2026, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Stanton Hill Road in Carthage. During the search, detectives seized more than 3.5 pounds of ma*****na, psilocybin mushrooms, THC concentrate, liquid methadone, drug paraphernalia, fi****ms, and U.S. currency.

As a result of the investigation, Asa Michael Warf, 45, of Carthage, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, manufacture of ma*****na, possession with intent to sell and deliver ma*****na, felony possession of ma*****na, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. He was placed under a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on August 20, 2026.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
