Morning all. A quick update on and with a picture of the and notes on where we stand in the midst of the drought. Like many, we’re always excited to put Good Fire on the ground. If you’re waiting on us to burn, believe me we’re not dodging the opportunity. We need the money. In fact, we’ve had to beg and borrow, beg and borrow, just to keep the ball rolling being 14” below normal rainfall with no real end in sight. Accompany that with a less than stellar timber market and well, a big barrel of un-fun is what we have. When the drought lessens, we’ll be there, drip torch in hand. Thank you for understanding.

Check out this recently installed food plot somewhere in the wilds of Granville County, NC.

This 25 yard wide plot will serve as a great viewing plot (just behind me in photo is the breakfast nook/living room of the landowner’s home). Having recently the timber stand behind the home will provide wildlife with the kind of cover and year round food they need to survive and feel safe when entering an opening as such.

Longer, narrower plots with feathered edges are often our plot design of choice as they feel safer entering the opening knowing escape cover is one or two bounds away!
