Community Autism Resources is offering PEERS® for TEENS ages 13 - 17

Navigating social situations can sometimes be difficult and confusing. This is why we created a space where we can learn together in a non-judgmental setting.

Sessions for this free social skills group run from January 8th,- February 26th, 4:30 PM – 6 PM (We request that you be able to make all 8 sessions!) at Community Autism Resources, 40a Dean St, Taunton.

This is NOT your average “autism social skills” group. We truly play off of the strengths, interests, and goals of each individual who attends. We have fun with it because, after all, making friends should be fun!

In our PEERS® Sessions, our highly skilled staff team will work with each group to focus on the strengths and uniqueness that everyone brings. We bring many years of experience working with autistic individuals navigating through the nuanced world of making and keeping friends. The curriculum we use to create our groups is from PEERS®, which is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated individuals diagnosed with ASD who are interested in learning skills to make and keep friends and develop romantic relationships.

Topics this group will cover:
⭐️Conversational Skills
⭐️Staying safe online
⭐️Hosting or attending get-togethers
⭐️Handling Disagreements
⭐️Handling Bullying (Indirect and Direct)
and Dating

The Elaine H Baker Grandparents’ Spring Luncheon

“You have to remember that grandparents have more to worry about. They worry about their grandchild, and they worry about their child too.”
Elaine H. Baker

Saturday May 17th, 9:45AM – 1PM, At the Taunton Conference Center,
700 Myles Standish Blvd, Taunton

The Grandparents’ Lunch is held each spring and fall and offers grandparents the opportunity to hear professionals in the autism field share information on important topics. More importantly it offers them the chance to meet and chat with others who understand the unique joys and challenges that they as grandparents share.
We hope Grandparents will join us for a Special Presentation on: ASD, Wandering & Safety
with speaker Jan Randall of Community Autism Resources.

This is an important topic! In 2024 In 2024 in the US, 69 children with autism died after wandering. So far in 2025, 13 individuals have died after wandering.

Wandering can happen among all ages and abilities.

Grandparents will also receive our new packet of information & resources on Wandering & Safety!!

This is also your opportunity to say goodbye to Jan as this is the final Grandparents’ Lunch she will be hosting.

This event is FREE for Grandparents who live in our region OR whose grandchild lives in our region. For those outside our region the cost is $35 PP

The lunch will be a plated meal not a buffet.

You will be asked to choose an entrée when you register.
