This year's theme is "Sustainable Fashion" so make sure to wear a 'fit to match! We're talking upcycled materials, thrifted and vintage wear, or if you want to get real avant garde, maybe some "trashion"-- Just make sure your articles are secured so you don't accidentally litter!

Stop by the Trees for the Triangle table to pick up a long leaf pine seedling, learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities, and maybe snag a "Trees are Cool" T-shirt!

Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel (Cary's historical society) members including Lois Nixon and Charlene Jones plant a direct descendant of the oak tree that grows on the grounds of the Page-Walker. That tree is a direct descendant of the Henry Clay Oak, under which Clay wrote the "Texas Letter" that observers then said cost him the presidency.

Tonight [Oct. 14, 2025] the board of directors of the Optimist Club of Raleigh agreed in principle to a collaboration with Dean Krupa and Trees for the Triangle, Inc. for the establishment of the Apex Tree Archive on sections of the Optimist Farm in Apex.
The first planting is tentatively set for Nov. 15, the Saturday after Veterans Day, when people will have the opportunity and the venue to plant a tree in memory of, and/or in honor of, a relative or friend who has served in the United States armed forces.
More will follow soon when the required papers are signed.

🎒+ 🌳 We’re teaming up with excited principals across Wake County Public Schools to plant 200 native trees on school campuses - bringing shade, beauty, and hands-on environmental education to thousands of students.

As part of the program, students will also take home seedlings to care for and plant, fostering a lifelong love of our natural world while helping to reforest our urban canopy.

We’re proud partners of the Arbor Day Foundation, and this program is made possible through the support of the Arbor Day Foundation and the Truist Charitable Fund.
