Reminder: Cary facilities will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. 🔔

Curbside collection will be delayed one day, the Citizen’s Convenience Center will be closed, and GoCary will operate on a Sunday schedule with Tier I Door to Door service only. Plan ahead and enjoy the holiday!

Most staffed facilities, including Town Hall, will close Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Curbside collection will be delayed by one day the week of September 7, and the Citizen’s Convenience Center will be closed September 7. GoCary will operate on a fixed-route Sunday schedule, with Tier I Door to Door service only.

Power outages affecting Cary are impacting Town facilities and programs today, Sept. 3.

Impacts include:
• Downtown Cary Park: 7 p.m. Zumba canceled; Guest Services closed
• Cary Senior Center: Closed
• Herbert C. Young Community Center: Evening programs canceled; closing after 4 p.m.
• Bond Park Community Center: Evening programs canceled; closing after 4 p.m.
• Bond Park Boathouse: Closed
• Page-Walker Arts & History Center: Evening programs canceled; closing at 4 p.m.
• The Cary Theater: A decision on the 7 p.m. movie will be made at 5:30 p.m.
• Cary Arts Center: Evening classes, open studios, and rentals canceled; closing at 5 p.m.

Drivers should use caution and report traffic signals that are out to Cary 311.

From getting your hands dirty at a fire station garden workday to learning about trees, home energy, composting, local waterways, and Cary’s agricultural history, there are plenty of ways to learn, volunteer, and connect with your community this season.

The fall lineup runs September through November, with events for all ages and interests, including Harvest Fest at Good Hope Farm to wrap up the season! 🍂

Traffic Alert: South Academy Street will be closed between Dry Avenue and E. Park Street from 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday, September 5, for Public Safety Day. Detours will be posted. Attendees are encouraged to park in the Academy Street or Cedar Street parking decks.

Tournament week isn't just happening on the pickleball courts.

On Wednesday, Veolia staff and Carvana PPA Tour players joined Cary staff at Carpenter Park to clear invasive plants from the pollinator garden and plant herbs that will be donated to a local food bank. Veolia is the PPA Tour's Official Sustainability Partner and pairs an environmental service project with every tournament it sponsors.

The Veolia Pickleball National Championships run through Sept. 6 at Cary Tennis Park, with tickets still available for remaining sessions. Learn more at the link in the comments.

A portion of White Oak Creek Greenway between Green Level Church Road and I-540 remains closed while Cary inspects boardwalk structures and assesses needed repairs. The closure will remain in place until further notice. 🚧

A separate Wake County Government closure of the adjoining American To***co Trail begins today, Sept. 2, from the Wimberly Road parking area to the White Oak Creek Greenway entrance.

With closures affecting both trails, check current conditions and plan your route before heading out.
