Did you know that September 6 is "Read A Book Day"? Take some time to disconnect from screens and enjoy a good story. After all, reading reduces stress, improves memory, and helps concentration. So, why not curl up with a good book up on a comfortable couch or, better yet, find a bench and read outside at Kids Together Playground.

And, while you're at it, mark your calendars for September 20 when Kids Together hosts and celebrates "We Love Books Day"!

YIPPEE! Kids Together Playground is open again! There are a few tidying-up items that Public Works will be completing, but that shouldn't interfere with your fun! You'll find freshly repaved parking lots, including the area that used to be gravel.

Thanks to Cary Public Works for everything they do to keep Kids Together Playground safe, welcoming, and comfortable for everyone!

IMPORTANT CLOSURE NOTICE: Kids Together Playground and Marla Dorrel Park will be closed from July 20 through August 7, weather permitting. In order to keep our park safe and up-to-date, our wonderful Public Works Staff will be repaving the parking lots, including the one that is currently gravel.

You can still keep your children active during the maintenance closure by visiting one of Cary's other parks and playgrounds. Have fun exploring.

Have you noticed anything new at the playground? If not go take a look. We are excited to share the new addition with you.

Kids Together Playground now features an Expression Swing — a patented face-to-face, eye-to-eye swing for young toddlers and an older rider to swing together, promoting intergenerational play. There's a supportive cradle seat for toddlers on one side and a swing across from them fit for an adult or older child.

The Expression Swing is in the toddler swing area toward the front of the playground.

Don't forget!! You can still enjoy the playground while the basketball court, skateboard pad and Thurston Drive parking lot are closed for maintenance. Maintenance should be completed by June 26.

✅ The playground itself will remain OPEN all week!

📅 Save the date for a bigger park refresh from July 20–August 7 when the entire playground and adjacent parking areas will be closed while Cary Public Works gives the space some much-needed TLC.

✨ The good news!! When it reopens, you’ll find:
• Freshly paved parking lots
• Improvements throughout the area
• Goodbye, gravel parking lot!

I'm so excited, and I just can hide it...

We have one week until Kids Together Playground's 26th Birthday Celebration. We hope you'll join us on Sunday, June 7, from 2-4 p.m. for some fun and frolicking, and while you're there enjoy crafts, slushies and much more. Oh, and don't forget to say hi to Katal the Dragon.
