Cottonwood Families!

Good morning! On behalf of Cottonwood staff, we would like to thank you for your support throughout the school year.

Today is the last day of school and we will be dismissing at 1:00 p.m.

A few other reminders:

1) Meet the Teacher event for next school year, 2024-2025, will be on July 18, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m.

2) First Day of School is July 22, 2024.

3) Reminder to all families to please complete the On-line Returning Student Registration. You should have received an e-mail from PowerSchool. If you didn't receive an e-mail or have questions, please contact the district at (520) 836-2111.

We are excited to announce our K-4th grade Summer school program: STEAMscape: Summer Explorer Academy
The programming this summer is going to allow students in grades K-4 to explore the state of Arizona through STEAM-based learning experiences.
Applications will be accepted through May 16, 2024.

This application is to be filled out by parents of students interested in attending the 2024 STEAMSCape Summer Explorer Academy. Applications will be accepted now until May 15th. Enrollment will remain open until capacity is reached. STEAMScape will take place June 10th-27th. Monday through Thursday...

Cottonwood Parents, Families and Friends,

Good afternoon! Teacher Appreciation Week is this week! Please help your child share their appreciation for the support their teacher has provided them this school year. Here’s what else we have in store for the month of May:

District Benchmark Testing: Our Kindergarten through 5th grade students need to complete their end of year exams beginning this week. These will be opportunities for our students to demonstrate how much they have grown from the beginning of the year until now in the areas of reading and math. We plan on reporting the growth to our parents. Please encourage our students to do their best!

End of Year, 5th Grade Fun: Our 5th grade students will soon be moving on to middle school. On Thursday of this week, our 5th grade students will be visiting the middle schools in preparation for next school year. Also, before they move on to middle school, we would like to celebrate them with tie dying (May 13th- 15th), 5th grade vs. the Staff Kickball game (May 16th). Also, our 5th grade promotion ceremony “Moving Up”, will be taking place on Tuesday, May 21st at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church across the street from Cottonwood.

Solar Bugs & Solar Houses: On May 8th, Schneider Electric Company will be visiting Cottonwood to work with our 2nd through 5th grade classes on solar projects. 2nd and 3rd grades will participate in a “Solar Bug” project while 4th & 5th grade classes will be building “Solar Houses”.
