We are heartbroken for the family of Sgt. Matthew Fishman and ask you to join us in praying for their peace and comfort.

Also, please pray for the other two deputies injured and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office family:
- Deputy Alexander Ramon Torres, 27 (stable)
- Corporal Andrew Cox, 37 (stable).

It is with profound sadness that we report that Sgt. Matthew Fishman has passed away from injuries sustained in the line of duty yesterday.

Sheriff Pierce thanks each officer and first responder for their support and asks for prayers for the families involved during this difficult time. He also would like to thank the in-county and out-of-county support received through the day yesterday.

We are saddened to learn of another loss this morning. Please pray for comfort for the family of Officer Shuping and for the recovery of Officer Robinson.
Our hearts go out to both officers and their families during this time.
This marks the 7th North Carolina LODD for 2020 and the 3rd LODD this month alone.
We will continue to pray for those affected by these losses in the days, weeks and holidays ahead.

NASH COUNTY DEPUTY SUCCUMBS TO CRASH INJURIES

NASH COUNTY, North Carolina -- Nash County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was seriously injured in a Thanksgiving evening crash has died.

Deputy Jared Michael Allison, who had been hospitalized at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville since November 26th, succumbed to his injuries a few moments ago.

Deputy Jared Michael Allison was working on the evening of Thanksgiving Day as part of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office participation in the North Carolina Governor's Highway Safety Program’s Thanksgiving Campaign to ensure motorist safety and travel during the holiday.

Sheriff Keith Stone said, "We ask everyone to keep Jared’s family as well as our deputies in your prayers as we all grieve the loss of a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the citizens of Nash County.”

Deputy Jared Michael Allison served with the Nash County Sheriff's Office for 2.5 years and was assigned to the office’s traffic team, which is funded by a grant from the N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program. Deputy Jared Michael Allison was a U.S. Army Veteran and an avid animal lover and rescuer.

Deputy Jared Michael Allison, 26 years of age at his passing, is survived by his 9-year-old son C**t Michael Allison, wife Brenae Allison, and parents Scott Allison and Angela McClellan.

Funeral arrangements for Deputy Jared Michael Allison are pending.

Trooper Nolan Sanders was involved in a single vehicle collision at approximately 7:15 this evening.
