That’s a Wrap on Summer Reading!

What an incredible 5th and final week of our Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program! We celebrated in true library style with grand prize raffles, certificates, awards for our participants, and special recognition for those who completely finished their reading logs. We also enjoyed snacks and an exciting obstacle course, where the kids had the added challenge of being chased by a big pink inflatable T-Rex!

We were also excited to combine the end of our Summer Reading Program with Smokey Bear’s birthday celebration in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service and the Cascade Ranger District. It was a wonderful way to celebrate reading, learning, and the great outdoors together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this summer, and especially this final celebration, so special.

Thank you to Hooked on Fro-Yo for donating coupons for our readers.

Thank you to Julie Perkins for putting the Summer Reading Program together and for leading it throughout the summer. Your hard work and dedication made this program possible.

Thank you to our amazing library staff, Sarah and Harmony, for their time and helping make the celebration such a success.

Thank you to our Library Director, Lisa, for your continued support of our programs and our young readers.

And a very special thank you to one of our biggest helpers from outside the library, Mrs. Stocks. We truly appreciate all of your help and support.

Most importantly, thank you to every child and family who participated in Unearth a Story this summer. Whether you completed your entire reading log or simply joined us for an activity, we are so proud of you for making reading part of your summer.

We hope you had as much fun as we did. Keep reading, keep exploring, and keep unearthing stories!

Week 4 of our Summer Reading Program was one to remember. 📚
This week's story time was extra special as we welcomed Cascade Mayor Judy, who answered lots of great questions from our readers and shared some fun facts about Cascade's history. Our Library Director, who grew up right here in Cascade, also shared stories and memories about our community, making it a wonderful morning of learning and local pride.
We also had one of our Dino-mite Readers, Sophia, volunteer to share her Summer Reading packet with the group and help everyone catch up on everything we've accomplished so far this summer. Great job, Sophia!
This week was also the final opportunity to turn in Summer Reading Logs. Everyone who turned in a completed log earned 20 raffle tickets for our grand prize drawings.
Join us next week for our Summer Reading Program Celebration, where we'll wrap up another fantastic summer, draw and award our grand prizes, and celebrate all of our amazing readers.
The fun doesn't end there. The U.S. Forest Service will be joining us after the program as we celebrate Smokey Bear's birthday with a special party. We hope to see you there! 🌲🎉

We will open at 1:00pm on Wednesday August 5th. Thank you for your understanding.

🦖 Summer Reading Program – Week 3: Unearth a Story! 🦕

What a dino-mite week we had at the library! This week, our young explorers learned all about dinosaur habitats while enjoying fun coloring pages provided by the University of Idaho Extension. Thank you for helping us dig deeper into the world of dinosaurs!

Lucy also helped Miss Julie give everyone an update on everything we've discovered so far during our Unearth a Story summer reading adventure.

Snack time included a special surprise! Each of our readers received a Kinder Egg, generously provided by Miss Julie and her daughters, Marilah and Serenity. Thank you for helping make the day even more memorable!

We shared lots of laughs while Harmony read some hilarious dinosaur jokes as everyone enjoyed their snacks.

To top off the day, we celebrated two very special birthdays coming up this Saturday! We sang Happy Birthday to Sarah, one of our wonderful library staff helpers, and to Sophia, one of our dino-mite readers. We hope you both have a roaring good birthday! 🎂

Thank you to all of our readers and families for making another fantastic week of summer reading so much fun. We can't wait to see what we'll unearth next week!

We had a great time at our Beginner Crochet Class for Kids at Cascade Public Library! It was wonderful to see our young makers learning new stitches, trying something new, and creating together.

Everyone got to take home their crochet supplies and a beginner packet so they can keep practicing and learning at home.

Thanks to our staff member, Sarah, for organizing and teaching the class. We appreciate the time and care that went into making this event a success.

Thanks again to everyone who joined us, we hope to see you at another library program soon! 💙

Calling All Local Photographers & Illustrators!

The Cascade Public Library is reintroducing library cards, and we’d love for the cover to showcase the beauty and spirit of the place we all call home.

If you’re a local photographer, we’d be honored if you’d consider donating a high-quality image of Lake Cascade or another iconic Cascade-area landscape.

If you’re a local illustrator or artist, we’d also love to see an original illustration inspired by our area, a cozy forest scene, mountain wildlife, wildflowers, the lake, or another design that captures the charm and natural beauty of Cascade.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share your talent while helping create something that library patrons will carry with them for years to come. The selected photographer or illustrator will receive credit wherever possible.

If you’re interested, please send us a submission. Details and guidelines below. We can’t wait to see Cascade through your lens or your illustrations!

Thank you for helping us celebrate the landscapes, creativity, and community that make Cascade such a special place.

What a dino-mite second week of the Cascade Public Library Summer Reading Program, Unearth the Story! Our young explorers rolled up their sleeves for a dino dig, searching through the dirt to uncover hidden dinosaur bones. We enjoyed a fun-filled story time, learned all about our adpoted dino, and topped off the adventure with some tasty snacks. Thank you to everyone who joined us for another exciting week. We can't wait to dig into more fun together next week!

We are very disappointed to share that someone cut the big poppies in our library flower box. These flowers have been lovingly grown and cared for since March, and they had just begun to bloom yesterday.

Our garden is here for everyone to enjoy, and it's heartbreaking to see something that so many people have worked to create damaged.

We hope this serves as a reminder to please help us care for our shared community spaces so everyone can continue to enjoy their beauty.
