Thank You, Cascade Community! 🌎

What a difference an hour makes - 32 amazing volunteers showed up on April 18 for the City of Cascade SH55 Corridor Trash Pick-Up.

The impact was incredible!

We’re grateful to everyone who came out, grabbed gloves and bags, teamed up, and helped make our main corridor shine. Your time, energy, and community spirit truly made this Earth Day celebration special. And of course, it was great to wrap things up together with some well-earned treats! A special thanks to M&W Market for their food donations.
A big shoutout as well to our local business owners who took time to spruce up around their spaces—your efforts help keep Cascade beautiful and welcoming for everyone.
Even if you couldn’t join us that morning, we appreciate those who found time later to pitch in. Every little bit truly helps.
Thank you all for coming together and showing what a difference we can make - together! 💚

The full closure of damaged portions of the South Fork Salmon River Road remain in effect as the road is still unstable for the safe passage of the public following the landslide in January. The closure remains in place until further notice. We know this road is an important access point, and the Forest Service is committed to repairing it to ensure long‑term stability for public safety.

We anticipate work will begin after April 10, and will share updates as soon as timelines are confirmed. The Forest Service and its partners thank you for your patience as we work to restore this critical road for the long term.

More information on the closure here: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r04/payette/alerts/south-fork-salmon-river-road-repair-closure

City of Cascade Sports Park Update - The lease agreement between the City and Iron Woman Construction has been assigned to Perpetua Resources. Perpetua Resources will continue to utilize the property as a laydown yard under the terms of the lease. Notably, Perpetua is presently preparing the grounds at no cost to the City, and upon termination of the lease, the chain-link fence will revert to City ownership. Further updates on the disc golf course will be forthcoming. We appreciate your patience, support, and understanding. Mayor Judith

From Darryl Shepard, City of Cascade Building Official

To the citizens, patrons, and business owners of Cascade, the City regrets the necessity of closing the sidewalk in front of the Whistle Stop, prompted by the unexpected failure of the brick façade. This issue came to light on Friday afternoon during preparations for the removal of the canopy overhang to facilitate window alterations. Although the contractor and owner anticipated having a safety tunnel in place by Saturday morning to redirect pedestrian traffic, unforeseen delays have occurred, and I will investigate the cause of this delay. On Monday morning, a structural engineer will assess the situation and develop a plan for immediate mitigation. As Building Official, I have determined that sidewalk closure is necessary to protect public safety and welfare. Thank you for your patience as we address this unforeseen circumstance.

🇺🇸 Celebrate America250 with an Act of Kindness! 🇺🇸
America250 is about honoring our nation’s history—not just with celebrations, but through service and goodwill. 💙🤍❤️

We invite our Cascade community to take part in the Acts of Kindness initiative by doing something kind for someone else and sharing it with us! No act is too small - kindness makes a big impact.

✨ Simple ideas to get started:
✅ Hold the door open and greet someone with a smile
✅ Pay for the coffee of the person behind you
✅ Pick up litter at a local park or sidewalk
✅ Donate canned goods to a food pantry
✅ Write a thank you note to a teacher, first responder, or soldier
✅ Visit or call an elderly neighbor
✅ Help carry groceries or return shopping carts to the store

Have an act of kindness to share? Submit it here:

Let’s celebrate America250 by showing what our values look like in action. Together, we can make Cascade an even kinder place! 🇺🇸✨
Happy America250, Cascade!
