⚠️ URGENT: SEVERE WEATHER PREP ⚠️
The Cascade Volunteer Fire Department is tracking a significant weather system moving into our area tomorrow. Forecasters are predicting a high risk of severe thunderstorms, high winds, and the potential for tornadoes.
Now is the time to prepare—not when the sirens go off. Please take a few minutes today to ensure your household is ready:
🕒 BEFORE THE STORMS ARRIVE
Charge Your Devices: Ensure cell phones, portable power banks, and weather radios are at 100%.
Secure Loose Items: High winds can turn patio furniture, trash cans, and potted plants into dangerous projectiles. Move them inside or tie them down.
Review Your Shelter Plan: Make sure everyone in your home knows exactly where to go (basement, storm cellar, or an interior room on the lowest floor away from windows).
Check Your Kit: Ensure you have flashlights, fresh batteries, a first-aid kit, and sturdy shoes in your safe room.
📢 DURING THE OUTBREAK
Stay Informed: Have multiple ways to receive alerts (Weather apps, NOAA Weather Radio, or local news). Do not rely on outdoor sirens alone—they are designed to warn people who are outside.
Know the Terms: * WATCH: Conditions are favorable for severe weather. Stay alert.
WARNING: A tornado or severe weather has been sighted or indicated by radar. Take cover immediately.
Your safety is our priority. Our crews are on standby and ready to respond, but we need you to do your part by staying weather-aware.
Stay safe, Cascade! 🚒💨
