As most everyone could see the tremendous amount of smoke from a structure fire that happened this evening at Maulding trucking, I want to give thanks to Martinsville Fire, Greenup Fire, Casey EMA and the Clark county ambulance service along with local law enforcement that assisted us during this unfortunate event. No injuries were reported and all crews were able to leave the scene. The building and contents were a total loss. After investigating the incident, it was determined to be an equipment issue that we think caused the fire and arson isn’t suspected. Please keep the Maulding family and their business in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this terrible loss. The fire still has some small areas burning but we feel confident that everything is contained.

Update:
Hydrogen leak has appeared to be stopped. We are continuing to use extreme caution and keep everything closed around Mach 1 except for dollar general. We hope to have the truck moved out after the technician arrives this afternoon around 3-4. Thanks for your patience on this situation.

The Casey fire protection district is excited for a “new to us” fire truck!!!! This truck will replace our current ambulance style truck we use for our rescue equipment and has the ability to haul 6 fire fighters plus 1000 gallons of water.

The department built a new station in 2020. Through lots of donations, fundraising, and budgeting, the department was able to pay off the loan for the station earlier this year which we are very proud of being able to do!!!! Now we were able to start updating more equipment like this truck. It’s a 2017 so it is 2 years newer than our other newest truck.

I want to so a big thank you to our citizens for always supporting the fire department, thank you to our 5 person board that has been very responsible with funding to be able to do what we have done and thanks to the members of the department for continuing to show up for whatever is asked of them to do!!!! I look forward to showing off our truck in the parade Friday but the current name of the truck will be from the department we purchased it from.

As many already know, great house of pizza burnt early this morning. We were able to contain the large fire and keep from spreading to the near by residence. This building had a metal roof and that has collapsed down inside the walls. That makes it extremely difficult to fully extinguish the fire without heavy machinery. So, the fire is still smoldering and might be for some time. We will keep an eye on it but wanted everyone to know that we understand there are still hot spots. Big thanks to Martinsville Fire department for coming over and helping us out!!!!

Here it is, the biggest sign done to date. This is 48x96 and three layers. They plan on creating a nice display for it out in front of the fire house. Thanks to the Casey Fire Protection District for the purchase of this sign! Keep an eye out for it once they get it done.
The powder coating was completed by R & B Powdercoat and looks great.

With the dry conditions we are having and Saturday’s forecast of high winds, we strongly encourage everyone not to burn anything to prevent brush and field fires.
