While Engine 4-1 was assisting with family night at the cadet academy, Rescue/Engine 4 handled a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Chambersburg Rd and High St in Franklin Twp.

One patient was transported by EMS and fire police assisted with traffic control in the area for about an hour before clearing.

Last night, Engine 4-1 assisted with family night at the Adams County Cadet Academy. The cadets demonstrated the knowledge and skills they have gained during the week by running through a series of incident scenario rotations. The crews that rotated through E4-1 ran an odor of smoke in a building, a large outside gas leak, and an apartment building fire.

The weather was perfect and the cadets did great!

CCFD was alerted at 4:48 yesterday afternoon for a vehicle fire in the 4900 block of Chambersburg Rd in Franklin Twp.

Crews arrived to find a pickup truck on the westbound shoulder with miscellaneous debris burning in the bed. The fire has already been knocked by a passing motorist with several fire extinguishers.

Rescue/Engine 4 and Tanker 4 responded. Crews completed extinguishment and cleared the scene within 10 minutes operating with 9 personnel.

Well... the weather didn't cooperate so there was no kickball, but we were still happy to have the opportunity to host and feed the Adams County Cadet Academy this evening!

Have a great rest of the week! We'll try to schedule better weather next year if you come to see us again!

It's hoseline day at the Adams County Cadet Academy!

Engine 4-1 is one of four engines being used today for the cadets to practice deploying crosslays.

We'll be hosting them tonight for a spaghetti dinner followed by some kickball. Let's hope the weather cooperates!

Tomorrow night is our June G*n & Cash Drawing!

A few unsold tickets were turned in this week and are still available for sale! $25.00 per ticket includes your chance to win a variety of g*n and cash prizes and includes a meal. Need not be present to win and carry-out dinners are available!

* Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
* Dinner served at 6:00 p.m.

Meal includes:
* pan-fried chicken
* ham
* baked beans
* macaroni salad
* applesauce
* roll
* dessert

Small games of chance will also be available throughout the evening.
