Tomorrow night is our June G*n & Cash Drawing!

A few unsold tickets were turned in this week and are still available for sale! $25.00 per ticket includes your chance to win a variety of g*n and cash prizes and includes a meal. Need not be present to win and carry-out dinners are available!

* Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
* Dinner served at 6:00 p.m.

Meal includes:
* pan-fried chicken
* ham
* baked beans
* macaroni salad
* applesauce
* roll
* dessert

Small games of chance will also be available throughout the evening.

We had some unscrupulous individuals trying to scam our friends by offering "tickets they can't use"

All tickets are sold with the buyers name written on the stub for the prize drawings. That stub is retained by the ticket seller and turned into the Department.

ANYONE trying to sell you a ticket other than a Department Member is a SCAM.

Please protect yourselves against those who seek to cheat you and the Volunteer Firefighters who faithfully serve you.

February 2026 Activity Report

🔥 CCFD was alerted as part of the first alarm assignment for this garage fire in Cumberland Township. Rescue/Engine 4 was the second arriving engine and operated on the scene for just short of two hours.

Gettysburg Fire Department responded to a detached garage fire early Monday morning that resulted in the total loss of both the structure and a vehicle inside.

Firefighters were dispatched at 4:15 a.m. on March 2, 2026, to 1092 Chambersburg Road for a reported car fire inside a two-car detached garage. Upon investigation, crews determined the fire was caused by a propane heater that had been left on overnight, which ignited a vehicle. The fire then extended throughout the garage structure.

Approximately 18 units from Gettysburg Fire Department and mutual aid departments responded to the scene. The fire was declared under control at 4:41 a.m.

No civilians were injured in the incident. One firefighter was transported to Gettysburg Hospital for smoke inhalation after inhaling smoke while operating outside the structure as he was connecting his air supply. He was treated and released.

The garage and vehicle are considered a total loss.

Gettysburg Fire Department urges residents to never leave portable heating devices unattended and to ensure proper ventilation when using propane heaters in enclosed spaces.
