In observance of Memorial Day, Metro Animal Shelter will be closed to the public on Monday, May 25, 2026.

🐾 Animal Patrol Officer Availability:
8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
For non-emergency assistance, please call the non-emergency dispatch line at 307-235-8278 and select #3.

🚨 For emergencies, please call 911.

After Hours (6:00 PM – 8:00 AM):
Animal Protection Officers will be available for emergency calls only through 911.

Metro Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026, in observance of the holiday.

We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to serving you when we reopen.

Animal Protection Officers with Metro Animal Services are available daily through non-emergent dispatch at 307-235-8278 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

For emergencies only, officers are available from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Please utilize the non-emergent line during regular hours and reserve after-hours contact for urgent situations requiring immediate assistance.

Metro Animal Services would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community for your incredible support over the past few weeks as we worked diligently to ensure the health and safety of the animals in our care.
We are happy to share that we have officially been cleared of parvo and will resume full public services beginning tomorrow, Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
We also have several new faces available for adoption who would love nothing more than to find their forever homes this Valentine’s Day. If you’ve been considering adding a furry companion to your family, now is the perfect time to visit.
Thank you again for standing with us and supporting our mission. We look forward to welcoming you back!

The Metro Animal Shelter will remain closed today and is scheduled to reopen tomorrow with limited services for a minimum of seven days.

Yesterday, one positive case of parvovirus was confirmed. Out of an abundance of caution, additional precautions are being implemented to protect the health of the animals and staff. All animals at the shelter are current on their vaccinations. Dog adoptions will be temporarily paused during this period as preventive measures continue.

We sincerely thank our community for its patience and support as our team works diligently to care for the animals and maintain a healthy living environment. Additional updates will be provided as they are available.
