May Anniversaries: Six Years on the Line

May brings a double milestone to the Casper PSCC as we celebrate two of our telecommunicators. Reaching six years in public safety communications takes an exceptional amount of resilience, focus, and heart.

Telecommunicator Anna | Team 3

Marking six years behind the console, Anna is a vital anchor for Team 3. She faces the daily complexities of the dispatch floor with a calm, steady hand, ensuring our community and responders have a reliable lifeline when seconds count.

Telecommunicator Kat | Team 1

Thank you, Anna and Kat, for six years of dedication, hard work, and service to Natrona County! 💛

Vickie VanNorman
📍 Casper/Natrona County Public Safety Communications Center – Casper, WY

they change the outcome.

Vickie VanNorman is a steady, compassionate presence behind the headset—someone her team can rely on and her callers can trust. She shows up early, prepared, and ready to give her best every single shift.

What sets Vickie apart is her ability to truly connect.

That’s the difference between doing the job… and being the voice someone needs.

Her calm, authentic approach builds trust instantly, especially in high-stress situations where it matters most.

But her impact doesn’t stop on the line—

As National Telecommunicators Week comes to an end, our dispatchers would like to take a moment to thank our incredible community.

A huge thank you to the Casper Police Department , Natrona County Sheriff's Office, Evansville WY Police Department , Mills Police Department , Banner Health WMC Paramedics , Thank a First Responder - Natrona County , Exxon, and ConvergeOne. Your generous support and gifts did more than just fill our breakroom; it filled our hearts and our bellies. Knowing that our work is recognized by the partners and citizens we serve makes all the difference.

We also owe a huge thanks to our fellow telecommunicators who took the time to celebrate their teammates. You went above and beyond to make your teammates feel valued.

A special shout-out goes to 8-year-old Lucas Johnson for the "You're a Big Dill" pickle-themed gift bags. Your creativity brought a genuine smile to the room, and it is exactly the kind of energy we love to see.

You may not see us, but you hear us. Whether it is a vehicle collision, a medical emergency, or a stray animal call, we are the ones coordinating the response and entering the critical data that keeps this county safe.

We live by the motto: "Tell me your worst, and I’ll send you my best."

And this week, you gave us your best.

From all of us behind the headsets: Thank you, Natrona County.

🎧 Our Core Support:

Behind every successful shift is a foundation of leadership, training, and reliable backup.

Center Supervisor Lori provides the oversight that keeps the entire operation steady. From managing the big picture to supporting the teams on the floor, she ensures the center has the direction and resources needed to function at its best.

Training Supervisor Jill is the architect of our team’s growth. Beyond guiding new recruits through months of rigorous training, she oversees the ongoing education that keeps our veteran dispatchers sharp. In a field where technology and procedures never stop evolving, she ensures we don't either.

Telecommunicator Tawny proves that impact isn't measured by hours alone. While she serves in a part-time capacity, she remains one of our strongest team members. She steps into the rotation with the experience and grit needed to handle the heaviest call volumes without missing a beat.

Telecommunicator John's value to the center is found in the essential behind-the-scenes work that keeps our operations fluid. Rather than measuring his worth by hours worked or calls taken, we measure it by the specialized projects and support he provides. He is the invisible momentum that ensures the rest of the team can stay focused on the lines.

Whether leading the room, sharpening our skills, anchoring the desk, or cleaning up our systems, these four are vital to the shared effort that keeps our center moving forward. 💛
