We are proud to serve as the designated organization by the City of Casper to administer HUD housing programs.

Additionally, under our nonprofit organization CHA CARES we work to provide resources that allow our tenants to stay housed.

For those who come to our office, we provide a free snack and drink-sponsored by Wyoming Association of Realtors.

Additionally, our Family Self Sufficiency staff provide free application assistance to anyone needing help applying for housing assistance.

Our mission embodies the idea of self sufficiency:

Teaching by example

Providing resources like tools, compost and seeds, and sharing knowledge

Empowering our community through hands on methods of teaching and doing

Encouraging new ideas

Incubating community

We are transforming the former North Casper School into a community food hub.

Everyone is welcome.

Over the past year we have produced food for all our community to enjoy in the “Food is Free” Community Garden where anyone can come pick any time- no questions asked.

We have launched our free seed library inside.

We have built out a lot of farm infrastructure to convert the former school grounds into intensive food production

The inside is transforming from a former school into a farm headquarters, volunteer center, coffee shop, tool shop, and more

The gymnasium got a new coat of paint and is now a welcome indoor space for recreation

And we are just getting started!
