Children's Advocacy Project

Children's Advocacy Project With the support and generosity of funders, CAP has provided services to over 3,000 children since 2002.

The Children's Advocacy Project (CAP) works to provide forensic and comprehensive services for alleged victims of child maltreatment throughout the state of Wyoming and surrounding areas. In 2007, the Children's Advocacy Project became the first Child Advocacy Center in Wyoming to receive the prestigious National Children’s Alliance Accreditation, proving that CAP is dedicated to providing high qu

ality services to investigators throughout the state. CAP remains a private, non-profit entity funded through a variety of federal, state, county and city funding along with private foundations and United Way support. The Children's Advocacy Project aims to:

• Enhance the interagency coordination of the investigation of child maltreatment.

• Minimize further trauma to the child victim and non-offending family members by providing trained professionals and coordinating services in a centralized, child-friendly environment.

• Improve the quality of evidence collected.

• Increase community awareness of child maltreatment.

• Serve as a multidisciplinary resource for the expansion of this program to other communities in the state.
