We’re wrapping up our Volunteer Month Celebrations this week. Today Ashley Radosevich, member of Engagement Crew, paid a surprise visit to Travis St. John at the Oil City Baseball Academy.

Travis LIVES UNITED by volunteering with various youth athletic programs in town.

Travis has devoted hundreds of hours to Casper Youth Hockey Casper Oilers Hockey serving on the board, supporting coaches, attending practices, coaching, spending countless hours on the phone with other board members, parents and coaches, traveling with his own son to games for the Oilers as well as the Travel team and even picking his niece and nephew up for some extra stick and puck to further develop their skills.

In addition to his time with the Casper Youth Hockey programs, over the past year Travis has volunteered hundreds of hours, blood, sweat and skills to build the new indoor baseball facility for CYB Select Casper Youth Baseball and Valor Vikings Baseball. Travis spends most days 7am-5pm (or later) at the facility. Travis coaches baseball and also takes time to assist other coaches as needed.

Thank you Travis for choosing to LIVE UNITED!

Shout out to Wind City Sweets & Treats and La Barista for the goodies!

The Engagement Crew is at it again!

Yesterday, Christy LeClercq, Anna Wilcox, and Ashley VanDeest stopped by Hilltop Bank to recognize another volunteer champion of our community, Jens Hansen.

By day, Jens works as a Vice President in the Loan Department. During this last year he spent countless hours helping small business owners obtain the PPP loan for their businesses so they would be able to sustain the hard economic times caused largely in part due to COVID-19. By night and weekends he is a volunteering superhero using his knowledge and understanding of finances to serve as Treasurer on the Board of Directors at Habitat For Humanity, The Heart of Wyoming and City Park Church.

His passion for volunteering is evident as he volunteers with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming, WYtown, participates as a DECA Judge, and at his church in the children’s ministry. But wait.... There’s more! He also drives and delivers meals for Natrona County Meals On Wheels. He uses his time and talents to serve the widowed, youth, elderly, and others in the community. His role as a father first demonstrates to his own kids why volunteering in our community is so important and we’re so grateful for the lessons he’s teaching them among the other youth he serves.

The individual that nominated him said, “Jens should be recognized because he goes above and beyond to help out organizations in this community and is always willing to give a helping hand to peers, strangers or anyone who asks of his time. Jens deserves to be recognized because he serves the community through a variety of ways and it is always with a smile and a humble heart.”

Jens, we’re so happy to celebrate you. Thanks for LIVING UNITED and all you do to support our community!

There’s one week left of April and we have a few more surprises in store… Who will be next?!

🎉IT’S NATIONAL VOLUNTEER MONTH and we’ll be celebrating someone in our community each week this month.🎉

For this first celebration, we’d like to take a moment to thank Josh Bliss for this commitment to our community.

Josh serves on the Board of Mimi's House, runs the 307 Vendor Co-Op and helps with 4H Natrona County.

The individual that nominated him said, “He is always lending a hand to others. No matter what. If he isn’t able to lend a hand he is able to help in some other way. He has an obvious passion to be a part of our community and help in any way he can.”

Thank you Josh, for donating your time and talent to this community we call ‘home.’

We’d also like to thank La Barista for providing a gift card as well as Wind City Sweets & Treats for their yummy treats they made for Josh.

We are so very grateful that together, in 2020 we were able to create opportunities in Natrona, Converse and Campbell County for neighbors to help neighbors, for businesses and individuals to support nonprofits, for residents to support local businesses, for groups to gather and give their time (socially distanced 😉) to do good things!
This holiday season we want to thank you all for the support that fuels our mission to do so.

Cheers to what we can do together in 2021! 🎉

United Ways and their partners can now participate in a new kind of parenting education...one that reaches everyone, everywhere, all the time. Advancing Parenting, a Camarillo CA nonprofit, produces parenting tips bumper stickers that can be put in holders and placed on tables and counters in offices, lobbies, and waiting rooms so folks can choose one or more for their cars. Bumper stickers are a unique and powerful way to share parenting wisdom. Just one will be read thousands of times. There are fifty-one different stickers in a set and each communicates a parenting behavior or practice generally recognized as supporting the healthy development of children. The tips focus on education, mental health, and character. Visit www.advancingparenting.org to order this free resource. Use a computer...our site is not optimized for phones.
