NEW EVENT!

The City of Casselberry will host its first Vintage Bazaar on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Concord Park. This new event is planned to take place on the second Sunday of every month.

Cosponsored by Specialty Popup Events, the bazaar will feature more than 50 unique vendors throughout the park along with a variety of food trucks.

This event is FREE and open to the public.

The City of Casselberry business offices will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Sept. 7.

Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Thursday, Sept. 10, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

ONE Week from today...

The Casselberry Latin Jazz and Art Festival returns on Saturday, Sept. 12, 5 to 9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park.

Kicking off this year's Latin Jazz and Art Festival will be the exciting dance group, Kalindá. Their performance is rooted in traditional Bomba and is dedicated to preserving Afro-Puerto Rican music and dance traditions in Central Florida. Next on stage will be Tampa-based Master percussionist, Dimas Sanchez and the Afro Latin Project, who will warm up the crowd with high energy, vibrant sounds and rhythms from Bomba and Plena mixed up with plenty of jazz and funk.

During the concert, some of the area’s greatest Latin visual artists will showcase their paintings, sculptures to mixed media masterpieces will be on display in Casselberry City Hall and the Art House. Also, during the event, don’t forget to stop by the Experience Contemporary exhibit at the Art Center and the Florida Sculpture Guild’s Cycles exhibit at the Sculpture House. Viewing for all exhibits is from 5 to 8 p.m.

Parking is available at Casselberry City Hall and surrounding businesses.

Come early to get the best seats for this FREE event that celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month in Casselberry!

Constructing Reality is special companion program for the current exhibition A Wrench in the Gears intended to expand visitors understanding of the exhibition. Chaz Underriner is a sound artist, composer, researcher, and professor at Stetson University.

Building upon the theoretical framework of the exhibition Underriner will explore how sound functions as a method of perception that influences a representation of reality. Through live performance and discussion, Underriner examines the complete trajectory of a sound, from its source and mediation to its perception and psychological effect, revealing how listening shapes knowledge, memory, emotion, and our experience of the world.

Celebrate the opening reception of Cycles, the newest exhibition by the Florida Sculptors Guild (FSG), on Friday, September 12, at the Casselberry Sculpture House as part of the Latin Jazz & Art Festival.

Founded in 2007, the Florida Sculptors Guild is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching, educating, and connecting communities through the sculptural arts. Representing emerging and established artists from across Central Florida, the Guild showcases the incredible diversity of contemporary sculpture through exhibitions, workshops, and community engagement.

Meet the artists, explore innovative three-dimensional works inspired by the theme Cycles, and enjoy an evening where art, music, and community come together. Then step outside to experience live Latin jazz, local artists, food, and festival activities throughout Lake Concord Park.
