Strong bones. Better balance. Meaningful connections. 💪

Community of Care facilitate volunteer-led Bone Builders classes in eight Rural Cass County communities! This research-based exercise program is designed especially for older adults and can help:

• Strengthen bones and muscles
• Improve balance
• Reduce the risk of falls and fractures
• Increase energy and confidence
• Build friendships and social connections

Classes are offered in Arthur, Casselton, Davenport, Harwood, Horace, Hunter, Kindred, and Tower City.

New participants are welcome anytime- no previous exercise experience is needed!

We are especially grateful for the dedicated volunteers who lead these classes and make the program possible in their communities. 💙

See the schedule below to find a class near you. Please note that Tower City classes are taking a break for the summer and will resume in the fall.

Community of Care’s Arthur office is still located inside the Arthur Mall, but you can now find us across the hallway in a larger space. Our new space gives us more room to meet with clients, connect with volunteers, and continue serving older adults in our community.

Stop by and see us in our new office—we’d love to welcome you! 💙

We loved seeing national attention focused on the importance of helping older adults remain safely and independently in the communities they call home!

The story featured Aging in Community, a program serving other areas of North Dakota. What many people may not know is that the program has strong roots in Community of Care.

Community of Care's first Executive Director, Jane Strommen, helped launch the Aging in Community initiative through her work with NDSU Extension. Our second Executive Director, Myrna Hanson, also provided consulting as the program was getting started.

For 23 years, Community of Care has helped older adults in rural Cass County remain independent by connecting them with transportation to medical appointments, Medicare counseling, Faith Community Nurse visits, and other essential support. It's great to see this community-based approach continue to grow. We are proud to continue this mission every day here in rural Cass County, serving older adults and helping them remain in their homes as long as safely possible.❤️

Congratulations to Jane Strommen & the Aging in Community team on this well-deserved recognition!

On my last day at Community of Care, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported this organization and myself these last 15 years. I have been blessed to be a part of Community of Care. Our clients, volunteers, board of directors, donors and staff have all played an important role in growing C of Care. Together we have helped older adults remain in the homes they love!

THANK YOU for the many kind words you have shared as i retire. Your thoughtfulness means so much. I might be walking out the door today, but I will continue to support C of Care and I look forward to seeing what the next 15 years bring 😄

A huge thank you to our Major Table Sponsors for helping make our 19th Annual Totally Tables fundraiser a golden success! ✨

With this year’s theme, “Thank You for Being a Friend,” it feels only right to celebrate the friends who continue to show up for our mission year after year. Your generosity helps Community of Care continue keeping older adults safe, independent, and thriving in the homes they love.

As they say, friends are the family we choose — and we couldn’t ask for better ones at our table. 💛 Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and belief in our mission. You helped turn tables into hope, laughter, and a meaningful impact!
