There is lots to do in Cassville this weekend! Join us for our first Stonefield | Kids Get in Free day with extra activities taking place in the Village!

The sun is shining, the river is calling, and Cassville is ready for a weekend full of memories. Start your day stepping back in time at our historic sites, then wander your way to the bluffs for a peaceful hike at 𝗡𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘄𝗲𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸, where the views never disappoint.

Join us for a talk by author Mary Elise Antoine on “Residents of ‘Wisconsin’ in the American Revolution” at 1 pm. Antoine's talk is part of our America 250 celebration on Saturday, June 13 from 10am to 4pm. We will be having hands on activities and tours all day!

As America celebrates its 250th birthday in 2026, the Wisconsin Historical Society is marking the occasion with a lineup of special programs at five historic attractions, along with its History Maker Space in downtown Madison. This is what is happening at Stonefield this summer!

A Toast to Governor Nelson Dewey: Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn about Wisconsin’s first governor and the development of Stonefield, where his grand estate once stood. Special presentations will take place throughout the day, at various spots on the site, highlighting Dewey’s time in office and along with a special presentation on the geological history of the area.

On Memorial Day we commemorate the mem and women who have lost their lives in the U.S. military service. We also honor our active service people by being a part of the Blue Star Museums program, offering free admission to the nation's active-duty military personnel and their families including National Guard and Reserve. Stonefield is open today from 10am until 4pm.

It is opening weekend! Come take a stroll through what was once the estate of our first governor, Nelson Dewey. We are open for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day this year. Make your plans to join us in Cassville this season!

Today, the Cassville National Honor Society came to Stonefield to rake and pick up sticks on the site. Thank you Mrs. Ashley Fure and to each and every one of the students! Your help is greatly appreciated.

As you plan your summer vacations, come visit us on the first Saturday of every month starting in June through October! Bring your kids under 17 and let them enjoy what the site has to offer for free!

Do you love Stonefield and want to work close with history every day? We are hiring for our Facilities Management Specialist, full-time position. This position performs a wide range of custodial, repair, grounds keeping, restoration, rehabilitation, utility system maintenance, and minor construction activities at Stonefield Historic Site. All applications must be submitted online using the provided link, the position closes on February 23.
