WHY I VOTED NO ON THE FY 2026–27 BUDGET

Bexar County’s FY 2026–27 budget is now approved — but I believe we missed an opportunity to make the difficult decisions needed to put the County on a more sustainable financial path.

This morning, I joined San Antonio’s First News on 1200 WOAI to discuss why I voted NO, my concerns with continued reliance on reserves, and what it could mean for County services and taxpayers in the years ahead.

🚧 WEEKEND CLOSURE ALERT

Heads up, neighbors!

TxDOT will have several Loop 1604 closures from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, weather permitting, as part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project.

Here’s what to expect:

• EB and WB Loop 1604 frontage roads at I-10

• WB Loop 1604 mainlanes — double lane closure

• Stone Oak Parkway at Loop 1604

• WB Loop 1604 entrance ramp from NB/SB US 281

➡️Flyovers at the Loop 1604/I-10 and US 281 interchanges will remain open.

Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra time if you’re traveling through the Loop 1604, I-10, Stone Oak Parkway, or US 281 areas this weekend.

Plan ahead and drive safely!

Excited to film a message celebrating the Roadrunner NEST, UT San Antonio’s new Basketball and Volleyball Training Facility, set to open later this year. 🏀🏐

This facility will serve UTSA’s student athletes and create opportunities for community and athletic events. It’s an important investment in UTSA, our local economy, and the future of Bexar County.

Proud to support this project right here in Pct 3. Congratulations to the student athletes, coaches, staff, and entire Roadrunner community on this milestone.

I appreciated the opportunity to sit down with the Professional Engineers in Private Practice (PEPP) and discuss the issues facing Bexar County.

We had a good conversation about our community’s growth and infrastructure needs.

I value these conversations and appreciate PEPP for having me back.
