If you have an appointment to complete your first-time passport application, remember to bring a check or money order. Why? Passports are issued by the U.S. Department of State, and we have to mail your payment along with your application. We can’t exactly mail your credit card — you might need that again later! 😉

Are you tying the knot this summer? Here are some important tips from our Recording Office to ensure a smooth marriage license process.

🐾 We love our furry friends, but using a pawprint as a witness signature can prevent your license from being scanned and recorded.
✅ Make sure your driver's license or ID is up to date! An expired driver's license cannot be used to obtain a marriage license. Providing a current passport is another option.
🖊️ Erasable ink or friction pens will disappear when the marriage license is scanned. Be sure to use a different kind of pen so your license can be recorded properly.

Douglas County Elections' Logic and Accuracy Test (LAT) is now complete for the June 30, 2026 Primary Election. This test ensures voting system equipment is functioning correctly and accurately counting votes as marked on test decks of ballots. It is one of the many detailed security features built into the conduct of elections in Colorado.
