Ultimate Frisbee has been a great way for our students to get outside, stay active, work as a team, and have some fun during the school day. Judging by these pictures, there’s been plenty of competition, teamwork, and laughter on the field!

We love seeing our boys and girls making the most of their elective time at ACS!

Looks like we have a couple of new students hoping to join ACS!

These two baby fawns were hanging out by the turf, apparently waiting for recess to start. We don't technically have an enrollment category for four-legged kindergarteners, but they sure looked ready to come and play!

There’s nothing quite like a PTO Used Uniform Sale: a room full of clothes that no longer fit one child but are exactly what another family needed.!

Thank you to our PTO volunteers for putting together another successful sale, to everyone who donated uniforms, and to all of our families who came to shop. It takes a lot of sorting, folding, organizing, hauling, and straightening to turn bags and boxes of donated uniforms into this.

The best part? Good uniforms get worn again, families save some money, and the proceeds go right back to supporting our ACS PTO!

Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders spent their first morning getting to know each other, learning their schedules, playing games, completing a scavenger hunt, and competing in some grade-level challenges.

They saw old friends, made new friends, and even had a chance to spend some time with their elementary teachers. We finished the morning with lunch, music, and popsicles!

It was a fun first day and a great start to the year. Welcome back, Eagles!

Meet Scout!

The newest member of our playground has arrived. Scout, our eagle, is ready to welcome students back for another great school year.

As you explore the new playground during Meet the Teacher Night, be sure to stop and meet Scout. He'll be keeping watch over recess adventures for years to come.

Take a look at how far we've come! Over the past several weeks, our parking lot, playground, and basketball courts have been transformed. Take a look at the behind-the-scenes view of the progress before we reveal the finished projects.

The final stages are happening soon, and we think you'll love the results. Remember the shade structure will be installed by Fall Break. We'll have a celebratory ribbon-cutting once this project is 100% complete!

We are pleased to welcome Ms. Kylie Davis as our Interim Principal and Ms. Angela McWilliams as our Assistant Principal starting this school year.

Ms. Davis has been part of the Academy Charter School family for the past five years as a 4th-grade teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, and, most recently, our Building Resource Teacher. She'll oversee our curriculum and academic programs, support our teachers, and continue the tradition of excellence that defines ACS.

This year marks Ms. McWilliams' 19th year at ACS. Many families know her from her years as our Theater Director, School Counselor, and Dean of Students. As Assistant Principal, she'll continue to oversee student discipline and support, lead our character education and electives programs, and help foster the positive school culture that makes ACS special.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Davis and Ms. McWilliams on their new roles. We're grateful to have them serving alongside Mrs. McMilon, and we know they'll do a wonderful job for our students, families, and staff.

The pile of playground pieces is getting smaller and the stuctures are getting bigger! Our new playground will be complete before school begins - we can't wait for our students to climb, slide, spin and swing!

The playground project is right on schedule and making progress! If you've driven by lately, you've probably noticed that the field has transformed into one giant construction set, with playground pieces spread everywhere waiting to be assembled. It's a little like opening the world's biggest box of Legos, except the instructions require excavators, concrete, and a talented construction crew! We can't wait to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this new addition to our school!
