Signs are posted that a burn ban is in place for The Town of Castleberry.
What this means is recreational fire pits, BBQ grills, etc. are permitted. However, open burning of grass, limbs, leaves, other debris, or the like is not. Citations will be issued for violation of the Town burn ordinance.
Direct questions to Town Hall, the fire department or police department if there is any misunderstanding. Thanks for your cooperation.

During the clean-up day, this was found. Just FYI, this is an airsoft pistol. Something like this, even though a toy, can get someone hurt or even killed. It looks like the real thing and can even be mistaken as such. While it is encouraged to not litter, it is also encouraged to keep items such as this put away properly. Thanks to Councilman Godwin for finding this and keeping the community safer.

THIS POST IS KINDA LONG, BUT WORTH THE READ.

For those interested, CPD, as of today, has been twice involved in assisting other agencies with high speed pursuits on I-65. The first was on this past Thursday when Escambia County initiated a pursuit. The suspect vehicle exited on exit 83 where he was forced back onto the interstate. That pursuit ended at the exit 107 in Butler County. The suspects were apprehended after they abandoned their vehicle. Many agencies were involved to include ALEA, Escambia County, Castleberry, Evergreen, and Conecuh County.
The second occurred today when a pursuit began in Baldwin County. After passing exit 83, the suspect vehicle met the spike strip deployed by ALEA. The suspect wrecked shortly after. The suspect was apprehended at that time. This was again a multi agency coordination from Baldwin, Escambia, and Conecuh Counties, ALEA, and Castleberry PD. If I missed anyone, I do apologize in advance.
The bottom line is it's not a matter of if, it's just when we catch you. Be safe brothers and sisters. Keep up the good fight.

Theft of Property from Castleberry Town Hall.

The video provided was taken on January 22nd at 12:50 pm. The video shows an individual entering Town Hall, picking up a political candidate's campaign cards and card holder, removing the cards and returning the empty card holder to the shelf.

The candidate was notified and an official report was taken. The candidate was given the opportunity to press charges and declined since the value of property stolen was not of substantial value.
