What to use a Q-tip for may be up for debate, but where it belongs isn't!

One thing everyone can agree on: Q-tips do not belong in the toilet. Just because it fits doesn't mean it should be flushed!

Flushing anything other than P*e, P**p, and Toilet Paper can cause blockages in your home's sewer lateral and the public sewer mains. The result? Costly repairs, raw sewage backups, and damage to CVSan's wastewater infrastructure.

Please, only flush the 3 P's: P*e, P**p, and Toilet Paper!

Attention! There has been an increase in the number of wipes and rags found in Castro Valley's sewer system.

When you flush things other than P*e, P**p, and Toilet Paper down the toilet, it causes problems in your home’s lateral and the public sewer main. Maintaining reliable wastewater pipelines and facilities is everyone’s responsibility. We can all take simple actions to make sure our system works. Only flush the 3 P’s! Thanks for doing your part to keep Castro Valley’s wastewater moving!
