Have a Clog Free Labor Day!

Planning a Labor Day BBQ? CVSan reminds you to have a CLOG-FREE Holiday! Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) are often used to prepare food. FOG affects the sewer system performance by clogging sewer lines, which can cause sanitary system overflows (SSOs), expensive property damage, and health hazards.

Please do not pour cooking/fryer oil or grease scraped from cookware down the drain. Learn how to properly dispose of FOG at cvsan.org/FightFOG

Recycling, organics, and garbage collection services by Alameda County Industries (ACI) will occur as per the normal schedule on Monday, September 7th. Please call ACI at (510) 483-1400 with billing and customer service questions, or visit ACI’s website alamedacountyindustries.com/CVSan.

Attention! There has been an increase in the number of wipes and rags found in Castro Valley's sewer system.

When you flush things other than P*e, P**p, and Toilet Paper down the toilet, it causes problems in your home’s lateral and the public sewer main. Maintaining reliable wastewater pipelines and facilities is everyone’s responsibility. We can all take simple actions to make sure our system works. Only flush the 3 P’s! Thanks for doing your part to keep Castro Valley’s wastewater moving!
