Dear Friends,

The 42-year success of CARH is a reflection of the dedication and enthusiasm that People like yourself display on a continuous basis towards our Charity. Thank you for your continued support towards CARH. It has been so appreciated from all the smiley faces from our clients.
CARH has struggled for the last few years to sustain our household recycling program but times have changed. As difficult as this is, it is time for CARH to cease its used clothing and household items collection efforts. CARH will no longer operate and collect clothing and household items.
As a result, the last day of the collection operation will be on Friday, August 29, 2014. At the same time CARH is also suspending the Charity operation for now with the hope that we come back at a later date.
We very much appreciated the opportunity to establish and maintain these priceless relationships with you over the years. Once again, on behalf of CARH and our clients, thank you for being a part of CARH’s legacy!

Since 1990, CARH’s “Visiting Cupid” program has been capturing the hearts of those we serve living with intellectual disabilities. On February 10th and 11th, “Visiting Cupid” surprised 225 clients at several Adult Day Programs by delivering Happy “Valentine’s Day” wishes, hugs, and gifts. This fun holiday is one way we can help celebrate “Valentine’s Day” with those we care about in our community. By filling the hearts of those we serve with joy, we know we are working towards our mission to enrich the lives of those living with intellectual disabilities, which makes Valentine’s Day a special day for all of us. We would like to thank our “Visiting Cupid” for helping us bring joy to those we serve in our community.

CARH’s BINGO Day participants were happily engaged in a fun day at the Michael Guidotti Center on Saturday, February 1st, when a familiar friend, Chex, arrived for a surprise visit. Eyes lit up with delight when folks saw their buddy stroll through the door during intermission. It didn't take long for a line to form with eager guests wanting to take turns greeting their adorable furry friend.

Chex, a large, huggable, Newfoundland, therapy dog, accompanied by his owner Hazel Jacoby, has been making appearances at CARH events and activities for many years bringing added pleasure to our programs. Many of the clients we serve have not had an opportunity to be a pet owner. When Chex visits CARH, the clients receive unconditional affection. Chex is well known for his big kisses and polite handshakes. Our clients have come to adore this gentle giant. Chex seems to appreciate all the attention too.
