That’s a wrap on a totally awesome school year! 🎉

Last week we were able to celebrate our amazing teacher of the year, Mrs. Morgan! As well as the retirement of two irreplaceable staff members, Mrs. Randall and Mrs. Burkett. Then we closed out the week at the district’s radical 1980s themed Celebration! 🕺🎵✨

We’re thankful for the dedication, passion, and heart our staff bring to our school every day. Congratulations to Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Burkett and Mrs. Randall, and cheers to another great year in the books! ✌🏼😎🏖️

Happy National Receptionist Day! 📞💙

Today we celebrate Mrs. Wanda! She is the first friendly face families and visitors see when they enter Catawba Elementary. From answering phones, greeting guests, making sure our front office is decorated and welcoming, and supporting staff to help the school day run smoothly, her role is essential in keeping everything connected and our students safe. 🚀

Her kindness, patience, and willingness to help make a difference in countless ways each day. We are so grateful for all she does to support our students, families, and staff! 💙

Feel good Friday vibes - Teacher Appreciation Week hits a little different when it comes straight from our students 💙🍎

This week, students were given notes that ​s​tarted with “Take this to a teacher who…” - after reading them, the students delivered the notes to the staff members who instantly came to mind. From teachers who make learning fun, to those who always make students smile or feel loved, the sweetest moments came from watching our Rockets recognize the people who make a difference in their lives every day. 🥹✨

The smiles, hugs, and happy tears said it all. We are so grateful for the amazing educators who pour their hearts into our students each and every day. 🚀

Today we celebrate our incredible QUEST staff, who go above and beyond to care for our students outside of the regular school day. From mornings before the bell rings to afternoons after dismissal - and even on workdays, holidays, and throughout the summer, your dedication provides a safe, supportive, and fun environment for our Rockets. 🚀

Your patience, kindness, and commitment make a lasting impact on our students and families, and we are so grateful for all that you do behind the scenes each and every day.

Congratulations to our April staff members of the month, thank you to the The Catawba Creamery, LLC. for sponsoring our staff!

Mrs. May has become a great teacher with lots of patience, structure and love for her students. She goes beyond being patient and caring for her students. She wants every student to grow academically and socially. Mrs. May is always on time for everything which keeps our students on task and our day to run smoothly. I'm so glad she is a part of our school family.

Mrs. Wright has gone above and beyond to help me transition into the Catawba family! She is extremely hard working and helps me accomplish all classroom tasks. She makes sure all students are cared for and that they have all their items needed for the day. Mrs. Wright will accomplish anything she puts her mind to and I am so blessed to have her by my side this year at Catawba. She exemplifies the mission and vision of our school. She is caring of others, patient with students and colleges, she is purposeful and invested in our EC Communication classroom. She goes beyond what is asked of her each and every day! Anything I need help with or completed or just a friend to ask advice to, Mrs. Wright is always there! Her work ethic is out of this world and her ability to make all things inclusive for our students on their ability level is amazing. I could not ask for a better teammate than her!

Today we celebrate our amazing Nurse Abbie, who cares for our students with compassion, patience - here at Catawba and at Creek Middle School as well! From bandaging scrapes and managing health needs to supporting student wellness and safety, she plays a vital role in our school community.

Her kindness and dedication help ensure our Rockets are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Thank you for all you do to care for our students and staff - we appreciate you more than words can say!

Congrats Grads! 🎓 We celebrated the former Rockets graduating from high school over the last few days! We hosted the Bunker Hill High School Bears on Friday, and the Bandys High School Trojans on Monday!

These students had a WILD end to their time at Catawba, as their 6th grade ended in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic. They left in March with a "hey we'll see you when it's safe to return", then didn't have a chance to come back. They missed out on major milestones, like our Bridging ceremony when students transition from Catawba to their middle school. We were able to snag pictures of them on the bridge before they loaded their busses one final time!

We so thankful that we are a part of TWO wonderful high school communities who get to watch these kiddos grow and succeed. We are so proud of all of these students and their accomplishments, and are excited to see what's in store for each of them!
