The citizens of the Town of Catawba invite you to visit our Garden of Honor recognizing area veterans, both living and deceased. The Garden is located adjacent to Town Hall on 1st Street NW.

A new memorial will be unveiled and dedicated on Veteran's Day 2026 and we are requesting those who served during a war time as a NURSE or MEDIC to be a part of this special day. If you, a family member or loved one served as a part of a medical team during a war please reach out to Fran Little via this page or call Catawba Town Hall 828-241-2215 (option 1) and provide your contact information. We are looking for individuals who served to assist in the dedication of the memorial and to also share your experience with us. Below is a rendering of the memorial to be installed and unveiled on November 11, 2026 (time TBD). Thank you for your service and hope you can join us.

If you are friends with the Town of Catawba VGH, you are aware of the sentiments that built this Veterans Garden of Honor. Most Veterans and their families find the garden as a place of comfort, a place to reflect and a place of honor. However, there are many Veterans who struggle daily to survive in this world in peace. Twenty-two Veterans succumb to their struggles daily.

As you read this post I would like to request friends, family and Veterans copy this post and information and post to your page! Someone's life may depend on it and you just may of helped them to save it. ❤️‍🩹

Wanted to share we will present a copy of the proclamation signed by Governor Josh Stein proclaiming March 29th as Vietnam Veterans Day to the Town of Catawba at the Town of Catawba Veterans Garden of Honor on Monday, March 30th at 6:00 pm. All are invited to join us especially our Veterans and their families. A table will be available to display pictures of those who served. Call 828.241.2215 option 1 if you you have questions.
