The Locust Township Police Department had the honor of participating in a mock DUI crash event held at Southern Area School District on April 28, 2026, ahead of prom. This impactful demonstration gave students a powerful, real-world look at the serious consequences of driving under the influence and reinforced the message that it should never be done.
Students witnessed live rescue efforts, including roof extractions performed by local fire departments, while EMS personnel tended to the “injured.” Officer Konkolics guided participants through Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, while Officer Kankowski spoke with students throughout the demonstration, explaining what they were witnessing and helping them understand just how serious these situations truly are.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all participants and volunteers who made this event possible. A special thank you to Ralpho Township Police Department for assisting our department, as well as all local fire and EMS agencies for their time, professionalism, and dedication in showing students just how serious these situations can be.
Our goal is simple: make smart choices and never drive while intoxicated.
