🎨 The wall is ready.

Autumn Martino and her crew have spent this week priming the restroom building at Esperanza Park — turning it into a blank canvas for “Rooted in Hope,” the mural chosen by a vote of the Dream Homes community out of 58 concepts.

Now we need you to help paint it.

🌳 Cathedral City residents: you're eligible for a FREE 15-gallon shade tree!

IID's Residential Shade Tree Program is open to Cathedral City residents — even if Southern California Edison provides your electric service instead of IID.

Enter the online lottery by September 11, 2026, for a chance to get a free 15-gallon shade tree, professionally delivered and planted at your home. Selected residents will be contacted within about a month to schedule planting during the fall season.

Shade trees cut cooling costs, improve air quality, and make our neighborhoods more beautiful.

🧡 Our lights are orange this month.

September is Hunger Action Month, and City Hall is lit for FIND Food Bank — the desert's food bank, feeding 122,000 people across the Coachella Valley every month.

One in six of our neighbors here faces food insecurity. Orange is the color of hunger awareness because it stands out when hunger doesn't — people skip meals quietly to cover rent, medicine, or the power bill.
