PRESS RELEASE:

Additional Cathedral City Police Officers will be out of the road from August 19th through September 7th looking for impaired drivers. Here are some recommended safety tips:

Plan ahead: If you know you’ll be drinking, designate a sober driver or call a ride sharing service.
Buckle up: Wearing a seat belt is one of the simplest ways to protect yourself in the event of a crash.
Stay Alert: Avoid distractions with driving such as texting or eating.
Follow all traffic laws: Speeding reduces your reaction time and increases the severity of crashes.
Watch out for pedestrians and bicyclists: Be extra vigilant to other people on the road.
And lastly, remember to take breaks if you are driving a long distance to avoid fatigue.

School is officially in session starting today and Cathedral City Police Department is committed to making this school year another safe one. 📚🚌

We want to remind the public of the increase of traffic in the school zones.
⚠️Pay attention to all crossing guards, parents, teachers, and especially the children in our community.
⚠️Don’t speed and avoid any distractions while driving as we will also be conducting extra patrol in these areas.
