A structure fire incident has prompted a multi-department response on Watkins Street, positioned outside the city limits of Catlettsburg. Watkins Street and Center Street (US-23) in Catlettsburg may experience congestion due to ongoing water shuttle operations involving tankers. England Hill received the alert at 06:35 this morning.

The fire involves a reported vacant residence.

5:00pm Update: All units are clear of the scene and the interstate is opened to normal traffic.

🛑TRAFFIC ADVISORY🛑

I-64 Eastbound in the area of the 189MM is currently down to one lane due to a Single vehicle accident. The interstate is currently experiencing very low visibility due to the snow along with very slick roads.

Pay attention to surroundings and prepare for heavy congestion on the interstate.

England Hill and Cannonsburg Fire Department are on scene along with Boyd County Sheriff's Office

UPDATE: All units are clear of the scene and roadway is reopened.

We are currently on the scene of an overturned Commercial Vehicle in the 7900BLK of State Route 168 (Area of Barbeque Spur).

Expect traffic delays while crews are on scene with the possibility of a whole road closure while the wrecker company uprights the vehicle.

Today we started a little upgrade to the station. New led lighting was installed throughout the station, and when I say it’s bright in there it is bright. The England Hill Fire Department would like to send a big shout out to Lunsford Electric LLC for doing all the work for us. We would also like to give a shout out to EquipmentShare out of Cross Lanes and their rep Josh Sexton. They were great to deal with, even got the lift to us early. We highly recommend them for all your equipment rental needs.

🛑 Accident Alert 🛑

FINAL UPDATE: All westbound lanes are now reopen.

9:20 UPDATE: Salt trucks have salted and All Eastbound lanes are now reopen to traffic. Salt trucks have also salted all Westbound lanes however I64 Westbound will remain closed at the 185MM while crews remain on scene for the original accident.

8:45 UPDATE: All of I64 will be closed for an undetermined amount of time, this is Eastbound and Westbound travel. Its closed at the 191 (State line) and 181 (County line)

Interstate 64 is very slick in areas throughout the county, Especially on bridges. England Hill and Cannonsburg Fire Department are currently responding to an accident at the 185MM Westbound. The sheriffs department is currently on scene of multiple other accidents. Use extreme caution and prepare for delays or possible road closure for an undetermined amount of time untill highway crews can salt the interstate.

Yesterday, members gathered for one of our most esteemed annual events, Shop with a Firefighter. Through successful fundraising efforts, we were able to expand our list and provide a memorable shopping experience for 11 local children. We extend our sincerest gratitude to all donors and supporters who contributed to this initiative, as their involvement was instrumental in its success.

Someone will be at the station on Wednesday December 17 from 6am-6pm if you would like to come by and get your order.
