🌧️ IMPORTANT UTILITY NOTICE: HEAVY RAIN & FLOODING 🌧️

Due to the heavy rainfall and local flooding, the Village of Catlin Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant is currently operating at maximum capacity.

To help ease the strain on our system, we are asking residents to please minimize indoor water usage as much as possible during this time.

How you can help:
Refrain from running washing machines or dishwashers.
Postpone non-essential water use (e.g., long showers or baths).
Limit unnecessary water discharge down drains.

We fully understand that certain tasks cannot be completely avoided, but any reduction in water use right now makes a significant difference while our systems manage the intake.

FLOODING & ROAD SAFETY UPDATE 🌧️⚠️

MERRILL STREET IS BLOCKED DUE TO FLOODING.

WALNUT IS BLOCKED BETWEEN BRYAN STREET AND MCKINLEY DUE TO FLOODING.

Our stormwater system/mains are currently overloaded due to the heavy rainfall. The system is slowly draining, but it will take time for the water levels to recede.

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDERS:
DO NOT drive through yards or on private property to bypass flooded roads. Driving through yards causes property damage and creates additional hazards for residents.

Please be patient and allow the drainage system time to work. We ask everyone to use caution, slow down, and stay off flooded roadways for the safety of our entire community.

AND, PLEASE STOP DRIVING THROUGH PEOPLE’s YARDS!!!!! TAKE ANOTHER ROUTE AROUND THE DETOUR PLEASE.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT FOR CATLIN RESIDENTS ⚠️

The Village of Catlin was made aware that a resident recently received a phone call displaying "Village of Catlin" on their caller ID. The caller attempted a scam asking the resident to sign up for Medicaid benefits.

Please be aware that callers can fake caller ID information. The Village of Catlin will NEVER call residents regarding Medicaid, healthcare benefits, or personal solicitations.

What to do if you receive a call:

Do not share any personal, financial, or sensitive information.

Hang up immediately.

If you ever doubt whether a call from the Village is legitimate, hang up and call our official office number directly.

Please share this notice to help protect your friends and neighbors!

🚧🚧🚧 ROAD CLOSURE 🚧🚧🚧

Road 1580 ( river road at the bottom of Anderson hill ) is CLOSED!!! The river is out and has it flooded!!! We will post when the river crests and can open the road back up

‼️Temporary Inconsistent Village Hall Hours Today‼️

Due to the heavy rainfall across the area, Village Hall staff are currently dealing with drainage backups in their own homes. As a result, staff will be popping in and out of the office throughout the day to check on their residences and monitor local issues.

If you visit Village Hall and find the office temporarily unattended, please bear with us. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our team navigates these weather-related challenges. Please stay safe, everyone!
