Yesterday our department linked up with Ira Volunteer Fire Department and CIMVAC Ambulance to conduct a training at Otter Lake Acres hosted by the owners, Travis and Rose Martin.
We set up a couple scenarios with βa man that went into the woods, and hadnβt been heard from for hours, the wife called an emergency and sent for fire, rescue, and medicalβ.
Members took to the wooded area to search for the man, who had fallen out of his tree stand and was unconscious. Seeking immediate medical attention.
ALTHOUGH this was just a TRAINING, this was very detailed and gave great real life insight into what procedures were needed, what tools and equipment could be useful, along with the resources and teams to be requested for additional help to adequately make the emergency situation more feasible!
We live in an area where there are a lot of hunters and in the winter snowmobile season. Anything is possible. And we always want to be prepared and well trained for ANY emergency situation!
Thank you to everyone that attended this fantastic training. A very special thank you to The Martins for allowing us to be able to train on your property, Troy being our βpatientβ, and making us all a delicious lunch! We truly appreciate it.
