Today, the members of the Catskill Police Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful to those who gave everything for others.

This Memorial Day, we ask our community to take a moment to reflect, remember, and honor our fallen heroes.

We remember them not just today, but always. 🇺🇸

Therapy Thursday 🐾

If you haven’t met her yet, keep an eye out for our newest four legged trainee, K9 Lilly, who is currently working toward becoming our certified therapy dog.

Lilly has already begun training to help support both our officers and the members of our community through comfort, connection, and companionship. She also comes equipped with a highly specialized skill set, including expert-level treat detection, advanced tail-wagging tactics, suspicious squirrel surveillance, and professional-grade cuddles.

Even though her training is still underway, Lilly has already made a meaningful impact around both the department and the community, quickly becoming a familiar face and bringing smiles everywhere she goes.

We are excited to continue this journey with Lilly and look forward to the positive role she will play serving the Catskill community.

A special thank you to John Thomas of Hi-TEC K9 Academy for helping make this possible and for his continued guidance and support throughout Lilly’s training journey.

If you see K9 Lilly out and about during training, don’t hesitate to say hello and maybe get a couple pets in (with handler approval, of course)!

The Catskill Police Department would like to congratulate all of the officers and deputies who officially graduated today, including our own Officers Aaron Cook and James Palmer.

Your hard work, discipline, and dedication brought you to this moment, and this is only the beginning of what we hope will be long and successful careers in law enforcement. Congratulations to the entire class, stay sharp and stay safe.

The Catskill Police Department would like to recognize Officer Katelyn Del Gandio following her completion from Evidence Technician Certification School.

Over the past two weeks, she trained alongside officers from across the Capital Region in hands-on evidence collection, documentation, and scene processing, the kind of detailed work that requires precision and discipline.

She now brings that training back to Catskill, strengthening how we handle evidence, build cases, and deliver thorough, reliable investigations for our community.
