The Cave City Police Department will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints beginning August 1st through August 31st.

The traffic safety checkpoints will be executed between the hours of 7:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M.
During the checkpoints, Officers will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance violations, seat belt,child restraint violations and motor vehicle equipment violations.

The following locations are approved checkpoint locations:
- 400 Block of Mammoth Cave Street
- 800 Block of Mammoth Cave Road
- Old Lexington Road and Cemetery Road
- Grinstead Mill Road and Blair Road
- Happy Valley Road and Estes Road
- Old Horse Cave Road and Hart County Line
- 400 Block of North Dixie Highway
- Louisville Road and Happy Valley Road
- Mammoth Cave Road and I-65 Interchange

As you’ve noticed, we’ve got some ongoing infrastructure updates and repairs with the roads and sidewalks within the city. As crews continue to finish the sidewalk expansion on N. Dixie Hwy, road crews have began working on Happy Valley at the intersection of S. Dixie Hwy. The sidewalk crew is working during the day and the road crew will be working at night between the hours of 7pm-6am. Please slow down and give these professionals plenty of room to work safely. Thank you and drive safe Cave City.

We are extremely thankful to be apart of Cram the Cruiser. According to Unitedway.org, approximately 1 in every 4 children lack access to essential school supplies. Initiatives like Cram the Cruiser help bridge that gap and ensure that every student can start the school year without worrying about the supplies needed to be successful. Every year our community continues to show up for our children during this event and we thank you. The success of this event is just another reason we are extremely proud to serve alongside the citizens of this great community. So come on out and see us tomorrow at the Dollar General on Happy Valley Rd.

Late night traffic advisory!! There are currently several trees down in the roadway and standing water along the roadways. Everything within city limits is good for now. However, Crews are out across the county trying to clean the debris. Please use caution when traveling tonight.
