The City of Cave Spring would like to remind residents that Georgia remains under a statewide Level 1 Drought Response, originally declared by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) on April 27, 2026, due to ongoing dry conditions and impacts on water resources.

At this time, outdoor water use is still allowed and remains unchanged under Level 1 guidelines.

General landscape watering is permitted between 4:00 PM and 10:00 AM.

While there are no new local watering restrictions, we encourage everyone to be mindful of how we use this important resource. Small conservation efforts can make a big difference.

Simple ways to conserve water:
• Check regularly for leaks inside and outside your home and repair them promptly.
• Water lawns and landscapes only when necessary.
• Adjust sprinklers so they don’t water sidewalks, streets, or buildings.
• Avoid letting water run unnecessarily.

Georgia EPD will continue monitoring drought conditions, including rainfall, stream and reservoir levels, groundwater conditions, and other indicators.

Thank you, Cave Spring, for helping us protect our water supply today and for the future.

The City of Cave Spring would like to remind all utility customers that updated utility rates will be reflected on bills issued August 18, 2026.

The approved adjustments are:
Water/Sewer: 2.5% increase
Garbage Collection: $1 increase — from $18.50 to $19.50
Fire Protection: $1 increase — from $17.00 to $18.00

For customers within the City limits, these changes will result in an overall increase of approximately $2.90 per billing cycle.

Customers located outside the City limits will see only the 2.5% adjustment to water service rates, as garbage collection and fire protection fees do not apply.

These adjustments were approved by City Council to help address increasing operational, equipment, and infrastructure costs and support the continued reliability and improvement of essential City services.

We understand that any increase in utility costs affects our residents and businesses, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain dependable services for our community.

Questions about the updated rates? Please contact Cave Spring City Hall during normal business hours.

These adjustments were approved by the City Council as part of the City's ongoing commitment to maintaining reliable public services and ensuring the long-term financial stability of the City's utility systems. Revenue generated from these rate adjustments will help support the continued operation, maintenance, and improvement of essential infrastructure and services provided to our community.

The rate adjustments will apply to:
Water/Sewer Service - 2.5%
Garbage Collection - $1 Increase $18.50 - $19.50
Fire Protection Fees - $1 Increase $17.00 - $18.00

These adjustments will result in an overall increase of approximately $2.90 per billing cycle for City of Cave Spring utility customers, reflecting the combined changes to water, garbage, and fire protection rates. Customers located outside the city limits will see only a 2.5% adjustment to water service rates, as garbage collection and fire protection fees do not apply. Citizens will see the updated rates reflected on bills issued on August 18, 2026.
