It is with great sadness that the City of Cayce shares the news of the passing of Andy Thomas, Curator of the Cayce Historical Museum.

Andy was a valued member of the City team and a tremendous friend to the City of Cayce. His remarkable knowledge and passion for our community’s history, along with his warm presence and genuine care for Cayce, touched so many lives.

Through his work at the Cayce Historical Museum, Andy played an important role in preserving and sharing the stories that make our community so special. He had a unique ability to bring our history to life, helping generations of residents and visitors better understand and appreciate the people, places, and stories that shaped Cayce.

His loss will be deeply felt by our City staff, our Museum family, and many people throughout our community who had the privilege of knowing him.

Andy leaves behind an important and lasting legacy in Cayce. We are incredibly grateful for the many years he devoted to preserving our city’s history and for the friendship, knowledge, and kindness he shared with so many.

Please keep Andy, his family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. And please share any photos or memories you have of Andy below.

👀You may have noticed our water tower located on Charleston Highway is getting a fresh coat of paint.🎨

Water towers require periodic repainting and maintenance to help protect the structure, maintain water quality, and meet South Carolina Department of Environmental Services standards.

And there’s another change worth noting: it’s no longer used by the Gamecocks for practice, so it’s time for a fresh start - and a fresh look!

We’re excited to give this important piece of our water system the care it needs while starting a new chapter for the tower.

🚨ANNUAL FLUSHING NOTICE🚨

It’s the first week of school, but we’re still thinking about the Back-to-School Bash with Cayce PD! 📚🎒

The 2026 Back-to-School Bash was a huge success!
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, the Cayce Police Department served more than 400 students with free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, meals, and plenty of smiles.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible and invested in the success of students across Lexington Two. We loved spending the day with our community and look forward to doing it again next year! đź’™
