The mission of the BHDD Office of Substance Use Services (OSUS) is to ensure the availability and quality of a continuum of substance use services, thereby improving the health status, safety, and quality of life of individuals, families, and communities across South Carolina. OSUS coordinates a statewide system of local substance abuse agencies that provide prevention, treatment, and recovery services.

Unused prescriptions kept in the home can increase the risk of misuse, especially among youth, and raise the likelihood of accidental poisoning. National Prescription Drug , happening this Saturday (April 25) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offers South Carolinians a safe, convenient and anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired medications. The Office of Substance Use Services encourages residents to take part and remove medications from their homes that could pose a risk.
