During the September 11 attacks in 2001, 2,977 people were killed, 19 hijackers committed murder–suicide, and more than 6,000 others were injured. The immediate deaths included 265 on the four planes (including the terrorists), 2,606 in the World Trade Center and in the surrounding area, and 125 at the Pentagon. The attacks remain the deadliest terrorist act in world history.

Take time today to honor all the first responders and individuals that lost their lives 20 years ago. We all need to come together as a country as we were on today's date, 20 years ago.

Since yard mowing has started we wanted to remind everyone that village ordinance prohibits any grass clippings or yard debris being left on the street or curb. All streets were just swept with our street sweeper and we would like to keep them clean. While you may think that a little bit of debris won't hurt anything, buildup in storm sewers can cause blockage and water flow restrictions. Please do your part to blow all debris back into your yard or sweep and pick up anything left behind.
