🚫 STATEWIDE BURN BAN EXTENDED THROUGH APRIL 10

The Governor has extended the Open Burn Prohibition for an additional two weeks. The new termination date is 11:59 PM on April 10th.

This means no open burn permits, land management burn permits, or training burn permits may be issued. The Executive Order specifically prohibits fire chiefs from issuing open burn permits and land management burn permits, and it also prohibits the State Fire Marshal’s Office from issuing training burn permits.

Although the order does not specifically mention contained fires such as burn barrels or recreational fires, no open fires should be conducted. Conditions remain dangerous, and any fire that gets out of control can threaten lives, property, and emergency responders.

Nebraska Game and Parks has also confirmed that fires are not permitted on their properties until further notice.

Do not burn. Do not take the risk.

Cedar Bluffs Fire Department is asking everyone to use good judgment and take this seriously. One careless fire can spread quickly and have devastating consequences.
Please help protect our community

⚠️ TRAVEL NOT ADVISED – SAUNDERS COUNTY ⚠️

The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office is advising that travel is not recommended at this time due to deteriorating weather and road conditions across the county.

Deputies and emergency responders are currently handling multiple vehicle accidents that have occurred as a result of the hazardous conditions.

If you do not absolutely need to be on the road, please stay home and avoid travel until conditions improve. This will help keep you safe and allow emergency responders to focus on those who need assistance.

If you must travel, please:
• Slow down and increase following distance
• Be alert for emergency vehicles and other motorists
• Allow extra time to reach your destination

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as they become available.

🚨 Please help us spread the word by sharing this post. Stay safe, Saunders County.

Give our Fire Departments a break today by making sure previously burned areas are completely out and cold to the touch!

Burning during a burn ban will result in citations being issued.

Today we got called for mutual aid by Morse Bluff Fire Department to a fully involved house fire. We are thankful that no firefighters were injured and that nobody was home in the residence. The bitter cold temperatures certainly added some challenges!

Sometimes after a full moon with an early morning rescue call, we all need a pick me up. Breakfast for Fremont ER staff was welcomed with open arms, and plates! We are always thankful for the great partnership with our local hospitals! Not pictured are the pizzas also delivered to Fremont Fire for their support as ALS assistance when we need them!
