The Reds used a big 7th inning on Saturday to secure a 10-7 win and advance to the Super Regional Round of the State Tournament. The Miners serving as the home team in the second game of the three game series jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning. Danny Chairez came on in relief in the first inning and held the Miners scoreless until the 5th inning when the Miners would tack on a 5th run. In the meantime the Reds would tally 2 runs in the 3rd on an RBI groundout by Karson Duncan and an RBI single by Payton Ludlow. The Reds added a third run in the 4th on a Ty Rowley single scoring Danny Chairez. The Reds started the 7th inning down 5-3 and scored 7 runs for a 10-5 lead. Colton Johnson started the inning reaching on an error and courtesy runner Hunter Burgess scored after a collision at first base on a Kian Carroll groundout caused enough chaos for Burgess to score. With one out and the Reds trailing by a single run, back to back singles by Duncan and Karver Tom put runners at first and second and Payton Ludlow delivered again with a run scoring double plating Duncan to tie the game. Tom scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch. A Collin Corry walk and an RBI single for Chairez added another run. The bats kept going with Maddox Giles scorching an RBI double down the left field line and a ground ball off the third base bag by Colton Johnson scored Giles for a 10-5 lead. The Miners answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th and loaded the bases before the Reds turned to Kian Carroll who slammed the door on the Miners for the win. The Reds will head to Ridgeline for the Super Regional next Thursday and Friday!!
