Come out and support our Champions team as they take on Cedar Creek High School Baseball!

Our Champions players — an adaptive/special needs baseball team — have worked hard all season, and we’d love to pack the stands and show them how much the community supports them.

Students from various programs of study at Cedar Creek High School were invited to complete a survey for an opportunity to participate in a limited engagement internship program with Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Students who completed the survey were elected to participate in the internship program based on their selected interest area, availability of the COTA program areas, and academic progress at CCHS. COTA staff developed 11 areas of interest for the students to intern with as they support programs beyond the race track.

The areas that students were placed in will allow for students to engage with onsite staff and learn valuable skills related to the operations of a world-class entertainment facility as COTA moves forward with the development of COTALAND, a multifaceted destination for families. Students will work in the department areas for the next five weeks with an emphasis on learning skills that will allow them to apply for part-time employment for the Summer and into the Fall.

We are excited to share the results from our Area FFA Career Development Event (CDE) competition from this past Saturday.
Our students represented our program with professionalism and dedication. We are especially proud to announce that our Horse Judging Team placed 4th overall out of 33 teams, earning them a spot at the State Contest in Lubbock, Tx on May 2nd.

In addition, we had outstanding individual performances:

Lia Fernandez placed 7th overall out of 126 contestants
Adrian Espinoza placed 8th overall out of 126 contestants and scoring a 50 for every class in the contest. (that is a perfect score)
Jose Rangel for breaking into the 400s for his total score
Aileen Olvera for improving at EVERY SINGLE contest we attended and was VERY close to getting into the 400s. This is also her very first year competing in the Horse Judging contest.

These accomplishments are especially impressive given the high level of competition in Area 12, which is known as one of the most competitive areas in the state. Our students competed against some of the top programs, making this achievement even more meaningful. This advancement was earned through hard work, years of practice (LITERALLY) and many, many miles traveled, 2,368 to be exact.

As we prepare for the state competition, we appreciate your continued support and encouragement. We look forward to sharing more updates as our team
