The Missouri Valley Economic Association (MVEA) was founded in 1963 to encourage the development of economics as a theoretical as well as applied discipline, to foster communication among scholars in those fields, and to facilitate the extension and the dissemination of knowledge thereof. In pursuit of these goals, the MVEA holds an annual conference in October in either Kansas City, St. Louis, or

Memphis and also publishes the Journal of Economic Insight. The MVEA encourages the presentation at the annual conference of papers in all stages of development from seminal ideas to journal-ready quality. In addition, the MVEA welcomes undergraduate and graduate students to be members and present papers at conferences. Please share this page with those who you believe will be interested in the MVEA.

🎓 Day 2 at the MVEA Conference

Today was all about meaningful conversations and thought-provoking sessions. From panel discussions on the job market and publishing to our amazing luncheon speaker, we learned SO MUCH today.

The cherry on top of day 2 was christening our first annual Fred Abraham President's Reception in honor of Fred's more than 35 years of service!

📸 Day 1 at the 62nd Annual MVEA Conference!

We kicked off the event at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza with excellent research sessions, engaging discussions, and a fantastic keynote by Dr. David Drukker on modern inference techniques in econometrics. We ended the day networking at a wonderful mixer!

From professional development workshops to networking with fellow educators and economists, the energy and enthusiasm were palpable. Looking forward to more learning and collaboration over the next two days!
